How high would a “simple” tripod gantry have to be Rob?
ie distance ground up to hinge + distance hinge to wingtip + allowance for block and tackle.
Just thinking out loud 🙂

Dunlop part numbers
Are component manufacturers useful too?
Dunlop numbers (wheels, brakes, maxarets, control hadles, hydraulic valves)
AH and AC numbers generally meant a complete assembly
AHO and ACO numbers were for individual items

Hurry up with your Dr.1 replica Hairyplane – might be able to earn a few bob renting it to the film production company?

From my first floor office window in Warwick I occasionally see various of Air Atlantique’s pleasure flyers flying around Warwick Castle – a delightful distraction.
Keep saying though “must get my windows cleaned” 🙁

Seeing the cockpit shot made me think (at this time of night?) was the Carvair cockpit completely new? How much of the original DC-4 was retained?

This is a rare Javalin and needs looking after……….please boss, let it be me!!!!
Rob, what happened to the two guys looking after the Javelin? It’s not that long since they finished a repaint. They had a website about it didn’t they.

It was a business man’s originally but couldn’t find anywhere else to keep it. He never did anything to it as he never really had the time so he donated it to us, so I believe.
Rob, I can’t remember the guys name, but I’m sure that for some years after he moved it to MAM he did work on the F.6 himself. I also think that money changed hands on transfer of the aircraft to MAM – but I could well be wrong on that.

My RRHT Newsletter arrived a few days ago – I quote from page 10…
“Spitfires
“The Mk XIX, PS853, continues to fly approximately two dozen hours in the season supporting the Company businesses, employee and community events, and selected commercial shows.
“The RM689 rebuild progresses, albeit behind the original programme, and announcements will be made when appropriate.”

In the wrong direction but MIRA (Motor Idustry Research Association) just north of Nuneaton, adjacent to the A5 (South/South West of EMA) is an ex-RAF airfield where they DO test cars.

I shall be very naughty here and say Blackburn Beverley, or about the Avro Shackleton, was surprised to see that there wasn’t one at Cosford or was there’s cut up too….
The RAFM have a Shackleton – it’s on display in the Manchester Museum. There was talk 12 months ago about massive re-organisation (reduction?) at Manchester and that the Shack’ might return to Cosford and I believe had that happened it would have gone into the new building in preference to the Hastings.
Anyone any recent news on the situation at Manchester?

Now theres a thing!!
Well done for saving it from the scrapman. If so few were built, do any others exist?
Willow
I’ll agree with that – how nearly it could have just dissappeared.

….they’d have to refurbish the team’s transport bicycle first and there’s a slight division as to the proper colours it should be in.
and the usual argument as to who’s going to sit where :p
