It’s not particularly important in the context of the thread, but I stand by MY comment re- spellings below. And the Lt Cdr’s name is given as both ‘Götke’ (in body text, probably correct) and ‘Gotke’ (in a heading – possibly not, due to unicode/website coding stuff) on the RNHF website, but I understand (unless his family take a variant spelling) it should be Götke or Goatke, as per my earlier explanation.

My apologies! I didn’t see your earlier explanation and got the spelling from the RNHF website!

Unless the RNHF have suddenly acquired another pilot with with a very unusual name, its likely that the pilot flying the Sea Fury was Chris Gotke!

Thanks for the great photos, although this reminds me that it’s been ages since I’ve seen anything from Mattias Dorst. That was probably my favourite thread on the whole forum 🙁

A lot of air forces bring transports over. It would be a great opportunity to pop really rare historics in the back and bring them to a biggest audience
