I haven’t heard anything on the restoration of the Hinds, but the website was still up & running the last time I checked.
I did hear from a friend of mine that some of the spare airframe etc parts have been/are being incorperated into other Hawker projects to make them look viable.

I looked at the website but there is no news there at all
Best of luck, GG!

Sorry, no news but I can let you know that when I win the Euro Millions (and it will have to be a multiple roll over) I’ll be rebuilding one Hind and recreating a Hart (India). Now where did I leave that naturally aspirated Kestrel…hmmm I may have a plan there.

I’d be tempted to saw a Hind in half and make a Fury!
Terrible news. Thoughts go to friends and family
Oh thank god! I did see her at Duxford today! I couldn’t believe my eyes!!
Side slipping into the undershoot fence is simply poor airmanship! There is no need to touch down just in side the fence as the runway is plenty long enough to make a normal landing. An important aircraft has been damaged in my mind by sheer stupidity. My heart goes out to those who now have this extra job of repairing the aircraft.
Good God! EVERYONE makes mistakes!
It seems that the product planners decided on an aircraft with similar performance to the DC-3 but more expensive (because of used ones coming onto the market) and with more powerful but
thirstier and (arguably) more unreliable engines. It’s a wonder they sold any!

That’s great!!
Wasn’t MT818 offered for sale some time ago?
Most fighter pilots I’ve met seem to have big egos and have seemed unlikely to giggle!
I read that he was offered a position with NASA at the very start of the space program, his reply was ” you wont get me in a spam can with chimpanzee sh!t on the seat” which sums up his forward thinking.
He was head of NASA’s Aerospace Test Pilot School. And says in his autobiography that he wasn’t selected for astronaut training because he didn’t go to college.
And nobody’s perfect!
If you’re tired of the sound of multiple Merlins you’re tired of life!
Around a ton, I would think.
Don’t think they’d waste money on flight-worthy Merlins if it wasn’t going to fly at some point. But stranger things have happened, I suppose!
Never noticed him getting any stick. He’s a very skilled engineer and (obviously! ) a very skilled pilot! Amazing man!
