It just seems to me to be the sort of childish pointless vandalism that Jeremy Clarkson would get up
Was there an interview with the director of RFTS in Flypast some time ago? (one of the monthlies anyway)
He said something along the lines of Kenneth More brought charm to the role-this was totally unlike Douglas Bader!
The pegasus was based on a French idea!
And how was the Jaguar better than the Phantom? (I know it was designed as an interceptor, but could still carry more AGW (and faster!) than the Jaguar!
Piece of Cake-was expecting some yummy recipes!
Re: ‘Yank’ films-What about ‘Sound Barrier’ Where the Brits did it? Or ‘First of the Few’ where R.J. Mitchell invented monocoque construction??
A DC-8 broke the sound barrier!
Model
Shame! It looks gorgeous!
Thanks Mark!
I often wonder if they knew what they letting themselves in for!
This may be a bit macabre but interesting all the same as I certainly hadn’t thought of it before. I spoke to an ex-RAF fireman at Old Warden once and he told me that they used to call Wellingtons ‘Widow makers’ because if one caught fire it was almost impossible to get anyone out due to the geodetic structure.
Best of luck with your project.
P.S. my (long gone) mum used to help make them at Squire’s Gate in Blackpool
Many happy returns!
It wasn’t until the final word of your post that I realized it wasn’t a photograph.[/QUOTE]
Thanks Oxcart. I have done the SR-71 twice. I just posted one of them in the forum for you. Here is the link to the thread: http://forum.keypublishing.com/showthread.php?129088-On-The-Edge-Of-Night&p=2118383#post2118383

I agree! Absolutely stunning piece of work!
How about an SR-71A next??
I’ll watch anything with Suzannah Lipscomb in it!
Omg!! Those codes look white!!
It was Ron Harker, Rolls Royce chief test pilot who suggested popping a Merlin in.
He died some years ago with no mention of his contribution to the war effort
There was a piece in Aeroplane a couple of months ago saying that the Historic Aircraft Association is going to become involved in the certification process of historics and that it might lead to a relaxation of the rules-fingers crossed!
