Hopefully DH-88 Comet G-ACSS getting some air under her wheels
I would love to see a mossie fly in the UK i never had the chance to see the BAE mossie before her sad demise = ( We can all hope that Jerry Yagen brings his mossie for a UK tour before she heads to the US that would be pretty special. Legends 2012!!! lol!
Either that or go to his facility at Virginia when she’s finished.
He will be bringing it over here! He has said that if it flies during the northern hemisphere’s winter, it will be going to the states first, and if it flies during our summer, it’ll be coming here first
Lots of control movement; makes the Harrier look a far superior concept.
Not our Catobar version.
Give it a chance, It’s early days for it! P1127 development wasn’t exactly plain sailing!
Any idea when/if we will see these babies in England? Surely they are worth the price of getting them to Legends.
More chance of seeing a formation of pigs flying over!
They are as built in every respect apart from some essential modern equipment to help communications and ATC, AFAIK
Iirc, Skysport were scuppered by funding (and/or engine issues) but they did plan to use a Sabre (no doubt someone will be along in a moment to prove me entirely wrong!)
Didn’t Skysport look into building one some years ago!
Happy Christmas
Dave
Yes
My apologies! I soon learned why it’s so rarely shown!
Fantastic, Beermat! I thought you had an impossible task on your hands with the almost total lack of material
There is at least 1 MI-24 ‘Hind’ flying in the states.
I think the problem with the Skeeter is rotor blades
Oops! Should’ve checked the figures! But maybe it was stripped out to carry them?
The B-29 had Almost twice as much power as a Lancaster and was much ‘cleaner’ aerodynamically, I’m sure it could carry 2 Grand Slams, but not very far!
That’s the one! Thanks, Pagen!
Doesn’t time fly?
50 years since first flight of the Lockheed A-12
According to Wikipedia, 2 are are still in service with Guiana’s presidential fleet!
