Well the RN doesn’t forget any of it’s hard learned lessons… Planes on deck equates to nice targets for enemies to aim at (Kamakazies of WW2, Exocets of the Falklands). At least if their planes are below decks, then they are afforded some protection and flamables aren’t as exposed either.

2 hangers, one above the other

You sure Steve? That’s rather unusual usually they are next to each other with a fire door linking the two.

Hmmm I’d have to agree with this analysis, our Bugs haven’t had this problem nor have I heard of any other user. Says alot about the US services if they aren’t really looking over they’re charges fully!

The S-80 has to be one of the most versatile designes to have come out of Russia since the Iron curtain got rusty and fell down.

There has to have been some Western influence in it’s design.

As for the M-28, that is a very neat little plane but sadly this bird has very short legs and no tallons 🙁

Somehow I think that beneath every rhumor therew lies an element of truth, thus i would not stray too far from the Rafael ending up in RSAF service!

Sorry Dan, as an old Submarinar I find it hard for any one to want to delete this service from their fold. What you say is of course right and perhaps the Danes might even consider a Multirole vessel like what New Zealand is getting. Old loves die hard!!!

Mix: Mate what about Greenland and the Fareos??? They are Danish territory, should these come under threat what’s going to be left to protect them?

Last night I heard about this on our international news channel, they said that the Russians had called the Japanese in to help but that the Japoanese were 24 hrs away, but they reassured everyone that the subbies had enough food and water to last a 7 day period.
