Well in any case it is a very bad move indeed and yes I read about the defence Ministers actions, It’s reported that he was undermining the service from within, which is why he never showed up.
Personally I would have kept the Naken and bought a second (or lease as the case may be). As for NATO asking Denmark to focus on Sealift, that’s ********… An organisation can not ask a government to focus on one area that may or may not be lacking. NATO has no authority to cancel a countries defence no mater who is in the group and what they promise!
Are there any pics of a SHAR landing on the flight deck of a frigate??? I had heard that the RN ahd done this a few times as an experiment but never seen it…
Excelent thread guys well done, suppose I should add some pics as well…

Coverage of the Falklands conflict including Harrier pics on the Atlantic Conveyor
I wonder what the Thrust to Weight ratio is for that Airbus 😛
As for the Tornado, can it actually receive fuel upside down? Many planes have a limited upside down flight time because of fuel flow issues.
“Pocket Navy” is a term meaning small or token.
Georgia has a well equiped force in it’s naval arm for the little water access it has, I woun’dn’t want to take them on!
Ok guys, here’s the two final answers… Guess it was a little hard!
6_1 is an Aussie LCM8 on Sydney Harbour, I see them there all the time
6_4 is a British LCVP in Iraq
Why would a SSBN would need to go to san diego or anywhere near US?
Strategic deterance, why does the USN send their SSBN’s out?
There is no way chines sub would make it to the coast of san diego. They would be detected and neutralized long before that.
What kill a sub full of people during a peacefull voyage? Remember the Chinese would deploy their Sub before any hostilities commenced, thus they can make the US out to be bad guys.
So sad, we know this day had to come but so soon? I still wonder what they will do with these when they are retired?
Yeah it looks like the one it’s replacing crossed with the Lynx.
But yes it is a nice looking machine
Are there any pics of these systems?
so I (US pacific fleet cmdr) deploy 4 CVNs, 16 DDG, 10 SSNs and 2 wings of F-15E in response.
Your move next
Indian: Ok my SSBN sitting of the coast of San Diego launches it’s birds… Have you not read any Patrick Robinson??? This is a real scenario that has been seriously discussed in closed groups over many years.
If China were to retake Taiwan, the first thing they’d do is deploy an SSBN off the coast of the US then they’d move their forces out on the seaward side of Taiwan and retake her as mentioned above. It’s not really a work of fiction but a very palusable strategy that would minimalise losses to Chinese forces from intervention by the US or any other country for that matter!
yeah I was reading about them on China Defence!
Jungle: You mentioned the S-80 (thank you for jogging my memory, with it’s GE turboprops it should actually do well
Interesting, one looks like it’s painted the same as a QuenetiQ one and that L-39 has the same camo as the RTAF has on theirs, interesting how they put Marines on it though
Hawk: mate didn’t you mention some time ago that Croatia still has a coastal artillery section in their Army?
