Yeah Turbo, We love them here, in fact there is a growing body down here that is really trying to keep them on untill 2020 like what was originally promised, even the normal person is joining in.
Everyone down here knows the F-35 is not going to be an adequate replacement for it, I don’t think we should allow it out of our service untill we get a suitable replacement (for my money I’d go the Su-34, but that’s just me and a small number of people).
That’s it the Arrow with the TBM defence capabilities, thanks Wan (I’m getting old).
Erez, mate are there any pics around, I’d be reallin interested in that combo you spoke about!
It’s very inobtrusive isn’t it? Nice shot
OK had a bit of a think, I’ll give you one of them, the other is wrong!
It’s not a Descubierta Class of the Spanish Navy, rather one of the Morrocan fleet 😉
The Al Arrhamani
Jester, you don’t know how close you are mate hahahahahaha
IIRC, the Vig had a few flaws and the main one was it not having enough pick up. Arthur would be a better person to answer this.
Personally I love the A-5 it was a good plane
Seems like a great idea to me! I’ve seen in proposed several times…….Yet, no country has ever constructed such a bridge on a Aircraft Carrier? Maybe it would add to much weight to the bow?
Scoot: mate seriously how could it add any more weight compared to the blocks and balast that they have in there at the moment? Actually I think in all seriousness, Russia will add this feature to their new designs, maybe China, but the other countries are too concervative! Spain would be the only other country that might try it when they replace the PdA
yeah but for all intencive purposes, they have called it a hospital ship, bit like China buying a Carrier for use as a casino 😉 hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Terran: mate you know it is 😉 It’s Oslo herself
AB: You eventually got it and it was backed up by Wan
Wan: mate I’m suprised, guess you were tired so that’s ok. You only got three right, sadly it’s not another Super Dvora and no it’s not an FS-1500 But that was a good guess (really impressed). However you did get the Greek Combattante III class boat, the Lybian Ship and the Laksamana Muhamad.
6 left people
Ships in order:
1. Oslo (Norway)
2. Al Hani (Lybia)
3. Laksamana Muhamad (Malaysia)
4. Antiploiarhos Laskos (Greece)
Still no Fitters 🙁 ANd watch the file size guys, some of us are still on dial up you know
yeah they were just over there and Security had a scare when she went one way that wasn’t planned
Mate I’ll take your challenge!
IMHO the very best is the Mi-24D, it can fight as well as get people in and out, it’s a brute of a machine. This sits right along side my love for the MD-500 Defender, this little buzzard could knock your head off and be gone before it hits the ground leaving you with a rather suprised look on your face when you get up stairs.
Second best would have to be either the A-129 or the AH-2 both I love equally.
Third I’d say the Lynx in all it’s forms
Fourth the CH-47 or the Seakings, both are set to be around for a bit longer yet.
Fifth the Mi-26, anything that big surely deserves credit for getting in the air!
For me the worst would have to be the Blackhawks, we have them here and they have been nothing but problems and over priced ones at that. For me the only Sikorsky product of the past 20 years that’s been worth any consideration would be the S-76 Eagle. Even the S-92 is a huge flop with very limited confidence in it’s production.
One Helo I do have great hopes for is the new MRH-90’s that we are set to start getting in 2007. These machines have very big shoes to fill with the Seakings that they will end up replacing.
What I would like to know is… With all that free space wasted under the ramp, why are so many companies and navies alike, hesitant on using this as this for the bridge of the ship as in many futuristic designs. It would free up the deck.
Hey mate just becarefull how much hair you cut off, sure I was in the navy, but others here weren’t so they might not understand craziness 😉 Besides, I don’t want you getting banned, you’ve become a very good help for me
Sorry Press mate, I didn’t actually see it but I did put a pic up, I’m up there with you 😉
Cinciboy: The J-22 was used in combat in Serbia, the MB-339 has been used against Terrorists in Malaysia (Don’t know if they used their Hawks though), and the Alpha’s have been used against rebels in Congo, one was lost but it was in an attack on the base when they were all on the ground.
