Stealing Ja’s idea.
Oi get your own idea mate 😛 Nah it’s cool, good call though!
Gonna have to findd one that will really tax Washan, he’s really good at this.
Jonathan: I’m really interested in those hospital ships mate, thanks for the pics, now can you tell me what facilities thew have aboard them? Can I expect a surgery and recovery ward? X-ray machines don’t look like they’d be on board. What level of support can they offer?
Also who ever posted those pics on the net might want to fix a problem I noticed in the Hospital ship pic. When you open it up, you clearly see the name on the boat but they have listed it the other boat in the top left hand corner!
Her banner states AH 02 yet she is known as BH 02, wht’s the AH stand for?
and you’ll find that is the case that most navies retire old ships, not that they can’t be used, it’s more that they become expencive in repairs!
Well if that’s the case, is anyone out there that can take a recent pic of her so i can see what’s going on?
Fuerza Aerea Dominicana is said to be the first foreign customer…
Great news Flex, how many and when?
Does anyone have pictures of A-29 with a FLIR pod and/or weapons.
Yeah I remember hearing that these birds were going to be used in a sort of mini MPA role as well with the IR pod (to replace the P-95’s), got me interested, don’t thin k there are any pics around yet as they would be trialing the device atm.
Colombia for example, and some other latinamerican air forces, like Ecuador for an A-37 replacement, Peru for the same reasons, Philippines has some COIN works….
Ther does seem to be a market out there, so i guess the only thing is that Embraer is sitting on their rear ends and not getting out there to market it, if that’s the case I’ll market it for them, where do I sign my contract?
I wonder what the combat capability of a modernized P-51 Mustang
Watch a movie called Ace of Aces III, that would give you a clear idea mate. Oh btw, how are those McDonalds Hamburgers doing?
What ever you think it’s still a nice little bus, I’d fly in one any day
The last picture I have seen was supposedly from mid-2004. Then she was still rusting away in Dalian and there was no sign of any work having been done.
yeah I have the same mate, But don’t you find it odd that now there is nothing out there at all on it???
Some interesting stuff there mate, thanks for sharing. Can’t wait to see the pics, especially the hospital ship.
So tell me, considering that Bolivia is one of the poorest countries in the world today, how do they plan on taking back their land from the Chilians? They can’t afford a war can they? And Chile doesn’t look like it’s going to give back any land it took in wars over a century ago.
Indeed KJ it is a wealth of info, thanks for shearing. Maybe you could shead some light on the current plans to build a new Carrier for the Amarda.
I wonder how it would stack up against a P-51…..
Good question mate, but a better one would be, how would it stack up against the Piper Enforcer? That was a project that should have been!
I don’t know Trans, the ETPS does like to have it’s planes in it’s colours. I agree it would be nice to see it in Red, but I’d prefer to see it in the Green camo like what is used on the Alphas in the UK.
has anyone heard any news on the Varyag since she made homeport in Shanghai? I can’t seem to find any info about it at the moment leading me to be very susspisious about her becoming a hotel.
I love that design, to me it’s practical, see how the island is more centeredallowing planes to move to the forward cat from the aft lift without interupting the landing sequence of daily flight ops. Whith a design like this you could mount 24hr flights from the ship with relativly no interuptions.
Of course the only down side I could see would be the sheer width of such a ship. She’d be really wide but then again so were the old Battle Ships back in WWII.
KJ: mate the only problem with those rounded hangars is the amount of room you have to move in them. As you can see in the pic with the helo, there really isn’t much room to move once your covered, this hampers maintanence work, especially if they have to pull the enging and replace it. Square ones at least allow room to move and rig pulleys for such complex operations.
On the 140 without the hanger, the Box just above the guys head, is that some sort of optics? If so, why is it facing aft and not mounted high up either on the bridge or on a mast?
Interesting stuff there mate, I had no idea about it. So I guess a co-operation deal would be right out then
