Well all things considering, could the E-1’s be reborn? I mean technology is so far advanced these days that Transistors and vacuume tubes that they used would be replaced buy solid state electrical circutry right?

Although the first two vessels of the San Giorgio class look much better after the refit.

Mate please provide a pic, I heard about their refit but never saw what was being done.

A support Ship that I love is HMS Ocean, this tub is great and has the looks to go with it

OR the Japanese Ossumi class, which are like the Italian San class.

the f-15E sounds decent enough for that role but what would it be interim to?

BIO: Mate they still think that the F-35 is going to be the worlds best strike fighter, only us educated people know that they are in for a shock.

Well I was trying to find the Islander AWACS that is now used by the british Army for suveilance work, but I came across this as well, now this is ugly but nice.

What’s this I hear that China has halted production of their J-11 (Su-27’s), they say that the planes no longer meet the PLAAF’s requirment, what is the requirment that they no longer meet? Why did they sign on for so many if they aren’t going to build them?

If the RSAF go for the F-15T, then there is a big possibility that the RAAF could lease a version of the F-15E as an intrim strike carft to replace the F-111’s when they are retired in 2010.

Either way, the RAAF is going to need a strike plane and this is now starting to come to light, the hornets are not going to be able to do the job as predicted and the F-35 is still a way off.

Well I know of a certain skipper in the RAN who loves water skiing so much that he busted an engine running at full speed on the surface with himself and nine others in trail with ropes lashed to the conning tower 😉 But of cousre, this is all condifential (wink wink, nudge nudge)

DOes anyone know of any ships that were damaged by the Tsunami? Obviously this one might have damage to its sonar equipment, but what other ships and what damage?
