Still, looking at that pic it does look nice in camo, good to see the IDF/AF aren’t sticking with the standard Olive Green!

This is very sad indeed, but look on the bright side, they will reform on a newer type and thus continue on the high traditions that has become famous of the RSAF

Ahhh yes now I know the Enforce series, the Enforcer 8000 in a modified design is what the RNZN is buying as their Multirole Fleet Support vessel.

One problem there is that the Armada del Chilliano, is not getting Type 23’s, they are getting Type 22 Batch 2’s. The RN has not retired any of the Batch 3’s yet nor will they before 2010, and the Type 23’s are noton the market in any way!

Having said that, of that small list you have supplied, I think the Lupo’s are more powerful, especially now that they have started to undergo an upgrade which has sorely been needed for the past 10 years.

Now if you expanded the list to include the Armada de Argentina’s Mekos, both the A360’s and the A-140’s, also their Type 42 and just for good measure, throw in the Esmeralda’s of Ecuador’s Marinara then you might have a bigger discussion going here!

Sorry I forgot to mention Marinara Mexico’s new boats, I don’t know their type, bt they are a homebuilt job with everything thrown in, including elementry stealth features- which makes one wonder where they got this from.

Terran: mate thanks for those pics, I’ve only just got them and now that I see, i have to agree, they are much better now!

Now there are four spots on the deck, not just two. those LCM8’s are pretty well tucked in on that add on and it actually improves the ships look I think.

Personally, I think this ship is now the answer to what the Irish Navy is looking for!

Bill: mate it’s not that you are showing your age, more that the young are taking over here mate! I had the previlidge of traveling in on of these classic ships, HMNZS Canterbury, talk about class!!! And the Kiwi ships were the only Leanders to carry a crew of both men and women, even our ones in the RAN didn’t, I also was part of the ships company of HMAS Torrens, the last DE in the RAN, which as you might know was an improved Rothesay Class, which was it self an improved Leander.

HMNZS Canterbury, the last of the Leanders still serving in the world, was retired last week, despite the facts pertaining to not only this ship, but this class, she is likely to be sunk as a dive wreck in New Zealand. I find this all a little too hard to bear!

Canpark: mate I don’t know how you do it, but thanks for doing it, Vietnam is actually undergoing a modernisation program for their small fleet, they are looking at gaining a green water capability with a couple of Corvettes to travel down to the disputed Spratley’s.

Supersugar: Mate all I can say is “The Kilo’s are coming”, if you don’t understand that, then I sugest that you read Patrick Robinsons “Nimitz Class”!!!
