Mate it’s not that we’re no fun it’s just that we want other topcis on the board more relivant to our respective locations (me for Oceania, Art for Europe and PII for the US for example), flooding the board full of nationalistic threads isn’t a way to go, it’s more of a way to annoy people!

You have to remember that IAF pilots base their ranking structure on British lines and are thus along Navy ranks where as the American ranks came from Army ranks as their AF started out as part of the army!

It’s more than one, half the Q link planes are flying in Jetstar colours atm, and they are due to be replaced in August-October time frame, untill then they will fly both!

Well The only thing different in the new K’s that I’ve read so far is the they will be more modern with a new “Glass” cockpit replacing the old analogue one. I’d like to see it with Cannards (I remember seeing a pic of a Mig 29 with cannards fitted- maybe Art could help out there). And from what I’ve read there will be only 26 planes and yes I get the impression that they were imposed on the IN as part of the deal! India didn’t want them but really needed the ship, besides only one other country in the world has ever got a better bargin for a carrier, Brazil!

As for competing in A2A with the Raf, no way. The Raf has incrediblerole rates that few planes can match, the only way a 29, even a K model, could beat a Raf is by using BVRM’s. It should go equally against the Super Bug and the Turkey is not going to be around long enough for it to even go up against any new K’s.

And IIRC the Indian government is still fully commited to the Naval Tejas for the ADS, and they aren’t looking for any other type to board the ship. Theoretically though it should be compatible with any new modern aircraft type selected.

If they think it’s bad up there then they won’t want to come down here that’s for sure!
