Well it’s safe to say that the UAV and UCAV age is unpon us! I personally miss the “Darkstar” that thing looked good, pitty it kept crashing!

With out Orions currently going through the AP-3C upgrade which is said to keep them in the air untill at least 2020 I can’t see the RAAF nor our government opting for these planes in such an early stage, and with the current crisis in Boeing as a company I can’t see anyone out side the US having any building participation at all in this program.

Boeing are struggeling these days and the recent lay-offs are a factor to that. Australia want’s to either build or at least partake in production of future aircraft, Boeing would not give us the freedom we need to develop as such and thus we’d be at a loss should we undertake suck a deal.

Basically it sounds to me as if Boeing are trying everything and anything to keep from going under!

Balmain: yeah I heard that to mate, it’s only because of the money that we supply the PNG with, they spend most of it on unaccountable things (their own pockets that is) and thus have no money to fly their planes, RAAF pilots are always going up there to fly them instead because their pilots won’t fly. If you take away the planes, you take away the funding for them and if you take away funding, then you end corruption, well that’s what they think anyway.
