fightingirish: Thanks for the facinating insight to this ugly but productive plane. I wonder if the Russians will ever divuldge any details of secret projects of their post war trials aircraft, not only this one but any others they might have had?

It was interesting to see Germany invited to the D-Day memorial, people forget that they lost many good men (and many nasty ones as well) in that epic battle!

I still feel sad that there are people who can’t bring themselves to face their former foes, I watched an SBS news story about the memoial and saw a couple of British men who were there and they both said that they have no time for any German and that only after their generation was gone could the healing begin. So sad to have lived a life and wasted most of it in hatered. Most of the Germans of that era I know would only like one thing, a hand shake from one of the people on the other side and to be told in that instant that they were forgiven, how sad.

With what you mention and with talking to another friend who lives in Brazil (some people here may remember Primer) the Gripen seems to be the favoured option simply because they are offering cheaper prices and larger off sets for the entire program. Certainly the ecconomics would out weigh any benifits to other government run programs?

Perhaps a deal could be struck where both the Gripen and the Flanker could win, the Gripen could replace the aging F-5’s which the FAB could sell off to another country at a very cheap price (gee let me think, what country in South America would buy recently updated F-5’s from Brazil at at damd good price, hmmmm). Maybe this is an option being discussed that we don’t know about?

Well that is good news, this means that the SLAF now would only have about four of these potent plnes left in their inventory wouldn’t they? (IIRC didn’t one crash or something late last year).

The Bo-105 would be considered a medium Helo if pittered against this little bug of a machine.

The AH-6 does however have increadilbe manouvouribility.

Don’t think any of the bugs would cross deck A-12 but would the AF-1’s Cross deck CVN-76? Will the Argentine Navy be involved as well?

Well it’s not so much dispersing the Chemicals, it’s flying low enough for the chemicals to do their work and yes that is the major concern

Acutally guys I was thinging of Water, remember here in Australia we’re in a drout and fresh water is becoming a rare commodity. Fresh water from a country that enjoys lots of rain could afford to share it with us and this plane could help fill up the dams for the farmers!
