Hmm interesting mate, well down here Venus was at the top of the sun transiting from East to west (right to left).

I know that the RAAF had a C-130A out of action for some months back in the early 60’s due to a heard of Kangaroos choosing the wrong time to cross the landing strip. Not long after this the government started putting fences up around the bases, Not to keep people out but to keep the animals out.

As for the Boar incident in the PAF we’ve had a similar incident to that but not with an F-16, just a measley little Carribou which was fully loaded with relief supplies for flood victims in the late 80’s.

A-29: mate I heard that the MdB were only looking at having the AF-1’s for a total of 11 years after which they would seek a modernday equivilant (possibly an armed varient of the USN’s T-45’s). If they were intent on keeping them longer, why didn’t they look at buying the New Zealand A-4K’s? Even the TA-4K’s could have been used on the A-12 considering the problems the MdB have with the trainer varients operating off the carrier.

As for the P-16’s are they still flying off the carrier? I’ve not seen any pics of them lately (I know they have been undergoing modernisation), nor have I heard any news about them lately.

Also do you happen to have any decent pics of the P-95’s? I love those things, armed with rockets they make a good close in MP aircraft.

Finally have you heard any news on the progress of the new Argentine carrier, reports I heard a few months ago stated that they were looking for a carrier in the 25K ton class that would be able to take their equipment that they have now and use aboard as well as opening the posibility for future Naval aircraft aquisitions.

Well the up shot of this would be that the South and Latin american countires may now be able to get new helos at very cheap prices and the support factor of their operation will also be low. Peru wouldn’t have to send it’s Helos all the way back to Russia for deep level maintainence, Mexico is far closer.

I think this will be good for both countries who are struggeling in the world ecconomy atm.

Sadly mate, it doesn’t look like getting any better any time soon 🙁 I still think my solution to the problem is best, it solves two of the worlds biggest population problems without any bloodshed!

Papa Lima: upon inspecting the pics of the J-21’s closer I noticed that the main gear had odd tyers, are they for use in the ice/snow coverd North of Sweden? Do you have any performace figures for them? I am especially interested in the roll rates of the machine in both configurations.

Also the canopies have been redesigned for use on the R’s, if you look closely at the differences in the two pics you can see it, which promts me to ask how were they opened?

The plans feel through after China made a huge protest to Billy Clinton (who as we all remember favoured China as a preferd trading partner) The deal was going against the “One China” policy same with the Apaches and half of what Taiwan wanted as well. The list included Ageig equiped crusiers, D/E subs with a TLAM capability (the Collins class was the preferd choice for that- good joke huh?) and some 24 P-3C Orions with full updates.

All this was shelved because GWB came on the sceen and said no to it all, instead he offered a perminant stationing of at least one carrier group 100Nm off the Taiwan coast and all 4 Kidd class cruisers with a reduction in capabilities.

It’s a pitty really, Australia was looking at buying Harriers as well back in 81/82 to equip their new Carrier, sadly the Falklands war happened and the Brits kept their carrier and we never got the harriers 🙁

Art: what’s wrong with the S-211’s? the squadron based down here (over in Perth) have actually done really well and even out performed our Hawk Mk 127’s in some areas, so i’m reliably informed.

And the Pampa’s are on a marketing tour of Bolivia so I hear, and it looks like they may actually sell there as a replacemnet for their near on dead AT-33’s.

The I-99’s aren’t bad either, Romainia can’t help it’s financial strugles, if they had some backing they would have produced a machine that rivaled the L-59/159.

We have several registered down here, they are wonderful planes but very tempermental and don’t suffer fools gladly!

I have seen a Dark Sea blue one down here that had a red circle on it (similar to JMSDF) but this was a civilian one.

Wow a cameroonian Impala II good work. Same with the Phikl AF S211 rare stuff indeed!

Starsign: How come the Kryg army has worse helos than the National Guard, I mean look at them, the NG one is kept better and even has radar on it, what’s the story?

Anyone have any decent pics of the Togolese Alpha’s?

Glad to see that the AF-1’s didn’t fully land on, the cat’s on CVN would fling the AF-1’s so far out to sea that the pilots would not need full power, those things are so light compared to their US contemporaries.

Maybe the Government and Embraer are looking at relaunching the A-1M program 😉 Now that would be cool, they could then sell some to the Italians for their new carrier and perhaps some to the French and English as well 😉

That certainly is a lot of vapour! I have to agree with Bmused55 though, not really pic of the month, but definatly a good pic.
