Speaking of which, have any of you heard about the Russians and Americans collaborating on a joint project reguarding flying saucers? I heard it on the news down here last week.
well from what I’ve read, yes the first one has finished it’s refit and has now gone on to the trials service of the Japanese government, what I think they are talking about it the actual inservice date which has slipped due to the governments trip to Iraq which was not forseen during the Kai upgrade start time!
Anyway the first Kai has taken to the air, so that’s good news.
We did a thread on this when it was getting built, still it’s on my to visit list when I go back to china! Nice to see what they finally finished it off with, I think the real question should be, are those Q-5’s retired or just on load for a time?
Our Pigs still have the capsule system and that includes the G’s that we bought from the USAF. Infact I don’t know of any F-111 varient that had normal ejector seats, if there were any could someone supply a pic please!
I’ll dig through my collection of RAAF pics and find the ones showing the capsule if you like.
Here are some pics for you, I know the two fixed wing planes have a rather messy Addition on them, but those shots were taken before the actual “Police” titles were applied to them, they now have them on there.
