Mate would it have a use with countries like Poland and Israel who still use small subs do you think? DSRV is a great idea but usually the DSRV’s are not the ones in trouble 😉

Does anyone have any large pics of the foxbats 3RAR found in the trees in Iraq? I have some thumbnail pics but I can’t see them clearly, getting old you see! And also what happened to the two that were claimed as war bounty? We were supposed to be getting two sent home here, one for the Australian War Memorial and the other for the RAAF museum down in Point Cook, since I heard the news that they were coming I have heard nothing about them arriving or anything.

Any small sub has an extremly covert use operationally and not many countries have them these days because of their limited use. I think the smallest standard operational sub would either be the Type 207’s in Poland or the Dolphin Class of Israel. I know South Korea had some small subs at one stage that could launch some sort of projectile at it’s target, but since the tubes had to be loaded in dock one has to ask what operational value these have?

Please don’t get me wrong, I am a big fan of the small especially after having served on subs, but you can be too small. Velebit there seems nice, I’d like to know more about her.

During WWII many countries had small subs, the German Milschkow and the many Japanese types, but asked which I think was the best, I’d have to say the Wellman X-Craft, these four man subs had a swimer delivery system, they also had two standard torpedos on the sides and limpets carried on the aft deck.
