Wan, the way i see it mate there are no other candidates. Lets look at your little list there though.

Thailand does have it’s own but you may a s well say that it’s a base rather than a ship since it has never left port in five years or so.

Spain, Italy, RoK and Japan are very well stated:- Why buy an old Carrier if you can make a new one (Which will probably cost less) anyway.

I can’t see Brazil buying her though it is the only country on that list that would be in a position to buy it.

Chilie wouldn’t since it would require a miracle in political dealings and financial flow not only to buy it but to keep it running. And as for Argentine, though ironic, I seriously doubt they could buy it even if they wanted to, they simply don’t have the cash (especially since Maridonna has started singing- hey perhaps that’s their new weapon, “give us money or we’ll send Maridonna to sing at your daughters wedding reception”!).

I’ve said it before and I guess I’ll have to keep saying it till I die… Australia is not interested in any of the Invincible class carriers. We were over 20 years ago but not now. Please don’t sugest this again it’s getting really tiresome explaining the full details of why we don’t want them.

Seriously though, the RAN wanted the F-100’s but as always the government went for the American designs. As for the LHD’s, that’s going to be interesting what happens now.

I think they were looking at keeping this one as a museum simply because of it’s links with the Falklands war.
