I saw something similar at an auction here in Jersey, a 1980 40th comemorative BoB signed Hurricane print. The list price was £40 – £60. I finally backed out at £170 and it went to a local Lovejoy for £180.

It will shortly revert to a normal post. However as things are happening, in terms of date fixing, it will keep bobbing up.

Can I suggest that you keep it as a sticky for a little bit longer than a week, so that Tracey can confirm the date and everyone attending is able to view without too much hassle.

Not sure what the camera ship will be, it has been mentioned something from Pilatus or even an eggbeater of some sort, though I don’t think the eggbeater will be suitable. However the advice has been great and I may make do with the 28 – 135 on this occasion.

Judging by the weather reports from Switzerland today, it may now not take place. Fingers crossed though.

For air to air shots you may find that it’s not wide enough for close formation work. You might also find that image stablisation comes in handy for air to air shots because of the vibration, otherwise you’ll have to resort to faster shutter speeds which don’t produce pleasing results with prop jobs.

I already have a 28 – 135 ISM, and Sigma 12 – 24. I had toyed with the fixed 100mm F2.0 from Canon. This seems to have had good reviews but not sure of it’s suitablilty for Air to Air. It also £100 cheaper than the Sigma, unfortunately my local Camera supplier doesn’t have one in stock.

    Decisions Decisions Decisions !!!

Thanks Kev, you put it so eloquently.

It must be a slow news day, so lets revive the sticky thread, once again !!!!

I believe the idea is to keep it at the museum (In the open) but to have a flypast by the HAC Hurricane.

All that inverted flying for a start. Can’t do the engines any good.

Would pushing the nose forward produce positive G ? How would it effect something like a DB605, do Merlins have to be specially adapted for flying up side down ????

So many questions, not enough time.

It’s quite simple really, you can keep the boring stuff like the P51’s, the odd Spitfire, Corsair, B25, P40’s, T28’s and Harvard’s. The rest you wrap in bubble wrap and send to us over he in the mother country where they wouldn’t be wasted on a heathen, unappreciative audience.

Looks superb! Looking forward to this…..Will we see her in the UK at any airshows in this scheme?

It’s a temporary scheme so I would guess not many appearances here in the UK.

Well, Like Mark12, I’d hope too that Tim Manna’s Seafire XVII will be there and it would be nice if the Seafire 47 could make a trip across the pound to form a unique Seafire duo, perhaps with the Sea Fury tagging along too for good measure. 🙂

And I wouldn’t mind one of the new build Me262’s either!

Oh & the TFC Fiat CR.42 and Skysport Demon would round things off nicely for me. 😀

Personally I would rather see something different to the Spitfire derivatives and endless P51’s etc.

Yes to the temporary blue U2 repaint! Glenn

Thanks Glenn, now Mark 12 or I will have to shoot Chris 🙂
