Ian,
I’ve had one of them offer his job to me already today.
If it’s that bad, why do they stay doing it?
May be that’s what it will take ? Mass moderator flounce.
Sorry Ian, we part company there.
If the moderators really felt strongly about matters they’d act.
By their silence they by default, acknowledge that the behaviour of the bad moderators is OK.It’s time a few of them made a stand in my opinion. They were quick enough to accept the title, now they need to do the job.
Silence in no longer acceptable.
You’re either on one side or another in this argument.
It’s a good point Andy, and from what I know from talking to a number of the mod’s, through one way or another they are as much in dispair over this as we are. It’s makes their job harder if they doen’t all follow the same hymn sheet, and like I say one rotten apple……….
I can think of one mod who steadfastly defended the rotten apple, he has certainly changed his tune in recent weeks.

Sadly however I feel that they propably all enjoy that little buzz of power that authority seemingly gives them just that bit too much.
Human nature again.
Andy
Andy I would say that on the whole, the moderators are fine. Certainly I can think of two who are a pleasure to know, and converse with. They moderate with thought. Why use a hammer to crack the egg !!!!!.
In general it’s one bad apple that is spoiling the barrel, unfortuantely the lid is on the barrel and the powers to be think it’s better to spray the air around the barrel than to remove the lid and take out the source of the smell.

General rule of thumb was, three strikes and you’re out. Mark 12 certainly sends a pm to the culprit and tries to reason with them before taking action any further.
My ban was undertaken at 1 in the morning, 4 hours after my so-called “personal attack” and with no warning. I can only assume that this person did this so that he wouldn’t have to consult his fellow moderators and could act on his own. Fairly small minded if you ask me.
Rob’s ban was for the use of the word garvage, which when you look at a keyboard is basically a slip of the finger. It wasn’t until a moderator told me last night that Rob has been banned for taking someone’s surname in vein that I realised why, it never occurred to me. Unfortunately Rob has been banned without the right to defend himself, no warnings, a straight two week ban.
Last night I posted a thread trying to be moderate and out line the problem, if the cause of our reactions and outbursts were removed, then surely things will calm down. The thread was pulled within minutes, on three occasions. No reason was given, Steve’s thread was pulled again no reason was given and Andy in Beds thread was pulled and yet again no reason was given.
If the problem was between two people, then you could say it was a clash of personalities. How many people does it take to join in before it becomes a general consensus of opinion?

The priest in a small Irish village loved the c#ck and ten hens he kept in the hen house behind the church.
But one Saturday night the c#ck went missing! The priest knew that c#ck fights happened in the village so he started to question his parishioners in church the next morning.
During Mass, he asked the congregation, “Has anybody got a c#ck?”
All the men stood up.
“No, no,” he said, “that wasn’t what I meant. Has anybody seen a c#ck?”
All the women stood up.
“No, no,” he said, “that wasn’t what I meant. Has anybody seen a c#ck that doesn’t belong to them?”
Half the women stood up.
“No, no,” he said, “that wasn’t what I meant. Has anybody seen MY c#ck?”
All the nuns, three altar boys, two priests and a goat stood up.
