This has happened in every war ever fought, and no nation can claim the moral high ground on this subject.

Do you remember the hoo ha after the Falklands War when it was claimed that Argentine prisoners had been shot after surrendering !!!

I recall reading an account of Normandy when the Canadians had taken a numbers of Prisoners, it said, eight men (6 Germans and 2 Canadians) were seen to go behind some dunes, only two Canadians came out the otherside.

Stamford Tuck claimed to have shot at a downed pilot in the Channel because he claimed it was better to put him out of his misery, than for him to slowly freeze to death.

There are several accounts of American atrocities in Vietnam, Mai Lai being the most notable.

It maybe proved that these Marines acted incorrectly, but maybe that is something to be left to the American Military authorities not for us to prejudge before the all the facts are known.
