I have had several offers of prizes from some very good sources. If anyone else has prize that they would like to donate let us know.

I have also liased with the people at MoM about the events on 9 May, the MoM meeting is being held as an extra event on a normal museum day.

I also spoke to them at length about selling raffle ticket at DX during the MoM meeting; unfortunately we think that this will involve having to arrange a licence through the local authorities.

One way around this may be to do the raffle in the form of a quiz, each punter pays £x.xx amount and gets a question sheet with 10 very easy questions, they answer the questions and write their name at the top of the sheet. It goes it to a bin or box and is drawn at the Red Lion on the Sunday night as per normal.

As I am a forum get-together virgin, I don’t want to step on anyone’s toes, so I am open to suggestions and comments. I will be guided by your thoughts.

I think holding the raffle on the day of the meet is best (plus I’m driving 300 miles back from Devon on the Saturday, and very much doubt you’d get any thing coherent out of me other than “pass the Shiraz”, followed by “sluuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrp”, followed by “Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz” 😀

We’ll be tackling the M5, M4, M25 route at about 14:00 on the Saturday afternoon, starting from junction 20 M5 (Clevedon) , We will hopefully stop at Hungerford on the way to visit someone special.
