    The is a nose wheel from a B26 in the German Under Ground Hospital here in Jersey, it came from an aircraft from the 573rd BS 391st BG called Tough Sh!t Ticket that came down between here and Guernsey on 25 August 1944.

    Of course guys you are right and I am totally wrong, I got my pilots mixed up.

    The chap I was thinking of is Flt Lt Ron Collis who served with 41 Sqn and transferred to 126 Sqn with who he was shot down with during a Rhubarb to Cap Carteret on 8 July 1944 in a MKXl ML366 MK~J.

    Ron now lives in California.

    As an aside you can get a t-shirt printing kit in most computer shops – now all you’d need to buy is a t-shirt (or an Irvin, or a flack jacket, or something else to put it on) and an iron… Oh how these ideas quickly lose interest!;)

    Someone suggested we all adopt our own designs feature our forum logon names, which seems to be an apt idea !!!

    I tried contacting Herb a few months ago but never received a reply, I was given his details by Peter Graham who also flew with 41 Sqn at the same time. He was shot down near St Malo with another Squadron a few weeks later.

    If you contact Herb again at any point I’d like to know more about his time incarcerated on Guernsey, and his journey from there to France and beyond if at all possible.

    Also if he can remember anything about Robinson and his origins that would be a bonus. I’ve tried writing to the papers in Ireland but to no avail.

    That last picture is in theory how this Hurricane should look, being a Canadian built Hurricane.

    I believe the MkXll were fitted with Hamilton props, on which the hub was too large to fit the standard issue spinner, therefore the majority of them flew with the hub exposed. Or so I was told by a Canadian.

    Has the engine been overhauled or replaced since last season, I believe there was a major problem with the unit.

    Depending on the style, they should be not much more the £10 each, but I think Geoffs idea is good.

    Those interested could submit their designs on a suitable thread, we could then all vote on them, pick the most appropriate and that one could be emailed to all those who would want a copy to adorn a T shirt, polo shirt of their choice. But we’ll have to act quick and get the designs submitted by the end of this weekend.
