I thought that Mrs T looked a bit of a sad old thing, the only person who seemed to attempt to talk to her was Prince Andrew, a proper veteran, I didn’t like the way that Blair kept his distance from her, I was never a Thatcherite or Royalist, but certain people did their bit and others should appreciate that, I do.

I’m not pro Blair, but credit where it’s due, he greeted her quite warmly, and was chatting to her for a short while at the beginning. I also believe that at the stone laying ceremony earlier in the week, Blair and his wife helped her to walk to the memorial to pay her respects. So it’s probably not fair to knock him in this instance.

But I couldn’t help thinking that back in 1982 the UK had a mandate to go into the Falkland Isle’s and, arguably, return them to their rightful sovereignty. The same could be said about 1991 and the first Gulf War.

However I wonder how Blair felt sat there watching the commemorations, knowing that he has sent troops to fight a war in Iraq which, to all intents and purposes, he has done so, illegally, and on the back of a lie.

I mean no disrespect to our forces fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. I support everyone single one of them in the difficult tasks they have been forced to fulfil. However I can’t help wondering if they will be accorded the same honours in 25 years time ?

i read on MSN news that some Cornish folk have been asking for support from the above mentioned group to drive out English Chefs.

My question is, do the people of Cornwall feel different from the rest of the Uk, do they want independence and why?

Jack & Sarah, Richard E Grant. Hue Grant look a like does a British version of 3 Men and a Baby, without the other two men. Nice film if you’re into sewing knitting and domestic science. Otherwise naff.
Grease, John Travolta, Olivia Newton John. ONJ in tight black trousers, nuff said.
The General’s Daughter, John Travolta again. I quite enjoyed this, but there again I quite like Madeleine Stowe.
We Were Soldiers, Mel Gibson wins the Vietnam War. Not too bad as a Gibson film goes, even if it was somewhat inaccurate at times. At least he wasn’t fighting the British, oh, and I forgot to note that the film also featured Madeleine Stowe.

Just to get the record straight, British Airways have not used the Airbus from Gatwick

Sorry, but you are wrong. As I said in my earlier posting, they have used Airbuses on the Gatwick route however for what ever reason they switched back to 737’s.

Over the past 5 years I have had cause to travel from Jersey to the UK with work and for pleasure many times. Going back a couple of years, many of those trips were undertaken on BA Airbuses.

I realise that my interest lies mainly in the historic area of aviation, but I can tell an Airbus from a 737. IRCC they were 319’s.

They’ve used Airbuses on this route on and off for sometime, this is hardly new, news.
