Is that the 137 Sqn (SF- ) Whirlwind ???
Strange no mention of Princess Diana giving her support from the grave !
At least the USS Intrepid is already preserved in New York and there are a least five battleships also preserved in the US whereas there will never be a Royal Navy battleship preserved nowBritain has now only one (remote) chance to preserve a Falklands War carrier.
Am I missing something, what are these if they are not preserved RN Battleships ???

Spent four years in the ATC 1977 till 1981, great fun times.
I think they would look sexier and better in Virgin Atlantic adverts
I’m not so sure !

Ian you have far too much time on your hands.
You could be right !!!
I guess the greatest benefit will be that instead of getting a cab back from the airport, you can simply bale out over your hometown.
You’d have supply your own parachute, you will be charged excess baggage for bringing one on board, or take a chance on surviving the drop without.
Now don’t put ideas in Stelios’ head…………..;)
Too late ! 😮
Apparently this is the low vis livery !

One itsy-bitsy problem, any advertiser may be a bit miffed if said Typhoons are haring round at usual rate of knots, can`t read the ads old boy:D
Not a problem, being a commercial enterprise there will be restrictions due to cost. Haring around burns fuel, fuel burn = less profit, therefore restricters will be fitted to all throttle controls on all EASYRAF fast aircraft to keep them below a 250knts max. Low enough, I believe, for anyone to be able to read any sponsorship logos visible.
Also at the weekend and on bank holidays Typhoons and other fast types will be hired out to undertake banner towing over sporting events and therefore increase income and turnover.
For the same reasons types such as C130’s, C17’s and A400Ms will supplement their military operations by taking package holiday makers to various locations around the world. Obviously, these locations will have to adjoin or be on route to a war zone, to keep unnecessary and fuel burning diversions to a minimum. However any unsold seats can be filled with troops going to or coming back from war, again, to minimise costs.
I don’t know why no one has thought of this before, it’s so simple.
The Government should sell the RAF to private enterprise and lease it back. I think Typhoons would look splendid in EasyJet Orange.
EASYRAF would be a superb new title and think of the advertising slogans to encourage recruitment !
My mother was engaged to a Polish pilot during WW11 who was killed on 2/1/45 in Mustang 111, KH494. He was with 316 sq. at the time but I have never been able to trace the identification codes carried by that aircraft, or indeed any evidence that 494 was with 316 Sq. at that time. Any clues?
I use to live across the road from her, do you still have that engine bearer, either Merlin or Griffon ????
I believe there is also one in a barn in Guernsey along with a FW190 2/3 scale replica.
Could this be the at the Vulcan Foundry at Newton-le-Willows on Merseyside.
It’s only an educated guess based on the name plate on that Steam Shunter in the foreground, which appears to be a locomotive gate guardian.
Vulcan went on to become part of the English Electric group and build the classic Deltic class of Diesel Locos.
