Historic has had its moments, however since a former moderator self moderated himself and has not returned it has improved somewhat. Not quite to what it was 18 months to two years ago, but it has improved.

Sometimes it pays to get your gripes out in the open, however in the case of the “World v said Moderator”, no amount of constructive criticism, either openly or by PM, seemed to do the trick.

In the end it was the unbiased reaction of a third party that administered the coup de grace to this moderator as a result of his (the moderator’s) unfounded public accusations.

Unfortunately things may not have got this far had the administrators of this forum taken heed of what was being consistently said to them by many of the forumites. It cost the forum dearly in a number of worth while contributors who left and have not returned.

Even now the request to be able to re-appoint moderators on an annual basis has not been granted or even reconsidered. After all they, the moderators, where put in place by popular vote of the forumites, it should be possible to remove them by the same means.

Having just shot a load of photos with my d50 in Raw and then realised i dont have the software to convert raws i am a bit stuck.
Does anyone know of any free software that will convert it, i already have on my machine Picasa, Paint shop pro 7 and picture project. Will any of them do it?

Correct me if I’m wrong, Canon supply software with their camera’s to convert RAW to JPEG or similar?

So surely Nikon would supply the same with their cameras, in which case why would you be needing software to down load any pictures taken in RAW if, in theory, the relevant software was already supplied with the camera.

If it wasn’t, then shouldn’t you be jumping up and down at the person who supplied you with the camera ? Or maybe take time out to read the instruction manual. Or would that be too obvious ?
