Admittedly, I’m not American, and perhaps that is why I don’t understand their obsession with guns.
But the whole argument with these shootings seems to boil down to this: stricter regulation vs arming teachers.
I can’t see how this is even a valid argument, as arming teachers will still result in innocent children having to bear witness to people being shot and killed.
Although I’m not convinced about its feasibility, the current project to get a Concorde airworthy would probably even trump the Vulcan. As much as I love the Shackleton, realistically it won’t attract the same following as the Vulcan.
It begs the question; If Doncaster is unable to cope with people turning up to watch the takeoffs/landings, how will they cope with people coming to view the proposed organised fast taxis?
I suspect that they won’t be permitted to do it very often, and when they do the tickets will be prohibitively expensive.
Still seeing rather a lot of unguided ordinance. It’s the 21st century so this is somewhat disappointing.
Guided munitions are hugely expensive. If Russia has a stockpile of ‘dumb’ weapons, and they are capable of doing the job, then it is prudent of them to use them.
” it shows that he is overriding the democratic will of the party to suit his own agenda”
Actually no.
He disagrees with the front-benchers who pre-dated his election, but he was overwhelmingly democratically elected by the party who were fully aware of his position on this while doing so.
Opponents of straight-shooters need to shoot straight.
His appointed ‘shadow cabinet’ are already disagreeing with him over it.
But his position has made something clear – when the party votes to renew Trident (and it will), they will still be voting against it by defacto thanks to Corbyns outburst. The party and their supporters didn’t vote for that. Of course, this is all moot. He has just guaranteed he can never be prime minister.
And will he please stop offering to apologise on my behalf for things that have nothing to do with me! First it was Iraq, now he’s offering to apologise for slavery. What next? Is he going to apologise to Germany for us declaring war in 1939?
Come back Milliband, all is forgiven.

We aren’t planning to nuke anyone, that’s the whole point!
But the real point is that it doesn’t matter what you or I think. The electorate are overwhelmingly in favour of keeping our nuclear deterrent, as are the majority of Labour MP’s. Mr Corbyn has betrayed the electorate and his party today. And if by some miracle he makes it to 2020 as the head of the party, he has just handed the Tories his own WMD. They will massacre him.
What an idiot he is.

When I heard that this morning, it made it 100% clear that this man cannot ever be Prime Minister. Not only is that statement in total contradiction of the deterrent, but it shows that he is overriding the democratic will of the party to suit his own agenda.
I don’t think he can last long now, any more time and effort invested in this man by Labour is a waste.

Yes, isolate an entire country. Like we do with North Korea.
And what a great outcome that has had for the long suffering North Koreans. Poverty, slave labour, death camps and a Police state.

Great pics, thanks for sharing 🙂
It’s a shame that I didn’t get to see much of it. I only live 20 miles away, but it took me 4 hours to get in, then a further 30 minutes to use the WC. Great variety of aircraft by the look of it, but the most poorly organised airshow I’ve ever been to.
Basically, I would try to isolate, and as much as possible, ‘ignore’ it.
Isolate and ignore an entire country? That can and does use social media to amazing effect. I’m afraid sticking our heads in the sand really would make this situation much worse.
I would stop all RAF bombing missions and restrict RAF activity over Syria and Iraq to drone surveillance. And I certainly wouldn’t contemplate, under current circumstances, any ‘boots on the ground’!
So effectively, you are condoning the creation and the ongoing horrors of this Islamic State. Don’t forget, that every day we ignore this, poor people trapped there are being raped, murdered, tortured etc. I find that pretty difficult to ignore.
As I said, the whole situation is a mess, I don’t have a ‘solution’; I would just try to limit the impact on as many people as possible but without repeating the mistakes that got the region into this mess in the first place.
It wasn’t that long ago when the people of Europe thought that a similar problem would go away by itself. It resulted in one of the worst wars in history and cost over 60m people their lives.
We aren’t dealing with communists, fascists etc here. These people have been indoctrinated into this ideology from birth. You can’t educate it out of them, and you certainly can’t ignore it out of them. We are an abomination to them, an insult to their culture and their god. They believe it is their divine destiny to destroy us. And the longer we allow them this country as a platform, the more advanced and far reaching their abilities will become.
