The UK is not under “serious threat” from ISIS or anyone else for that matter. That someone could confuse a bunch of ragtag terrorists staging the occasional atrocity in fair England with a serious threat to the nation indicates just how skewed perceptions have become. The only serious threat to the nation or the welfare of its people comes from its response to terrorism.

And I was under the impression that the UK wanted out of Europe anyway. 😉

    Deliberately watering down the issue?

Isis are just a symptom of a larger problem – the incompatibility of Islam with liberal democracies.

Am I right in assuming she is the only surviving prototype of any frontline WW2 type?

I’m going to estimate that by the time the NHS regional deficits and this extra money are taken into account, the NHS budget will be circa £120 Billion per year. There are just over 64 million people in the UK, so on average it costs us £1875 each per year.

Depending on your source, the whole 35 year lifetime cost for the Trident replacement is equal to 18 months NHS spending.

I’m afraid the NHS needs completely overhauling, but none of the politicians will have the guts to do it.

As above, I’ve always paid attention to Edgars posts on various forums, always came across as a definitive source of info, and a thoroughly nice gent.

    RIP.

If the stories currently circulating are to be believed, the TPM/VTTS one will be third, not second, in line to join the UK Airshow scene

    Please elaborate 🙂

I think perhaps some people are (once again!) (deliberately?) misunderstanding the aims and intentions of the ETNA project that VTTS are embarking on. From the 3rd November VTTS newsletter:

Note the sentence I have highlighted 😉 The specifics of VTTS involvement with TPM are still being discussed, so we don’t yet know how far their input will go, and the above certainly indicates them possibly being involved with more than one project in some capacity.

Note the last sentence too; “And of course, we may be tempted by a new project ourselves, if the right opportunity arises.”

To be fair to the Chinese, I don’t think we have any right to bring up human rights when we live in a country that is suffering from an epidemic of forced marriages, FGM, Institutionalized racism (quotas based on skin colour rather than ability, Black Police Association etc) etc

Admittedly, I’m not American, and perhaps that is why I don’t understand their obsession with guns.

But the whole argument with these shootings seems to boil down to this: stricter regulation vs arming teachers.

I can’t see how this is even a valid argument, as arming teachers will still result in innocent children having to bear witness to people being shot and killed.
