    Incredible pictures. 😎

I doubt we will ever see such a pure design in service again.

Cosford seem to be doing a pretty good job with the Dornier… And this Wellington looks far more substantial that that did.

The two parties most likely to want a Wellington already have them. Would be great at Duxford or Elvington, but I doubt either party have the funds required, even with Lottery heritage assistance.

I suppose the best chance would be through someone like Wargaming.net, but I’m not sure they’d have the appetite after the Burma expedition.

In 1994 I was given a French telephone card that had a picture of Martin B-26s on a raid for D-Day.

I for one would be thrilled to see the UK pour more of its diminishing resources into imperial policing projects like a modified A330 at the expense of real combat platforms. It would represent a further step* along the road to complete dependence on the United States.

    * The existing cost of the UK’s imperial burden can be seen in the fact that the RN has 19 surface combatants while Japan operates 44 on a lower defence budget. TANSTAAFL.

Please can a MOD delete this. I’m sick of seeing Rii’s racist drivel.

    Thanks 🙂

Looking at some of the videos that are linked to that page, it gives the impression that there’s a decent amount of this aircraft left. 🙂

A better tool for anti insurgency operations would be a high altitude airship, (think HAA/HALE-D) with a large number of (SDBesque) munitions that could be released on demand from the ground then lased to target as appropriate. Unlimited endurance (only needing to come down for replenishment) and air support as immediate as the travel time from airship to ground.

The downside being that they are a sitting duck

    What a great video 🙂

While I am very sorry to see this magnificent aircraft leave these shores, I know it will bring pleasure to a lot of people in the USA. Long may she keep flying 🙂

People with mental health issues have a problem with people taking offense on their behalf. They are the ones who create a stigma.

This is nothing but another cheap shot for some ill perceived political gain.

    Great program.

But I do wish they would refrain from using the word ‘restore’, this hugely impressive Spitfire is a new build. Great to see credit going to those engineers behind the scenes, that make the warbird movement possible.

From what I understand, it could be the equal of almost any adversary of the time at low level, and in the right hands.

I hope the Rockets stay on her when she returns to the UK, they are an integral part of the Typhoon legend. 🙂

    Instead, they should:

    – Use rainwater reclamation for the toilets and for gardening as much as possible.
    – fit lever water valves to WCs instead of cisterns, so only using exactly how much water is needed, not in 6ltr or 3ltr increments (on dual flush WCs)
    – meter water usage per dormitory and charge accordingly. When it hits the students in their pockets, they’ll soon learn to change.

Is that not a plastic copy of a Lambo?

Yes. 🙂 Looking st the dashboard, it’s based on a MK2 Toyota MR2.

    Yup, great casting. 🙂

If there is a weak link, it could be the scriptwriter: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0566100/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1

The directors past work isn’t great either, with a notable exception being Dorian Gray (2009): http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0662529/#director

But even if it only has a little of the magic that made the original so entertaining, it will be good. 🙂
