I take it that is one of the Lightnings that was butchered for Wing Commander?

We have talked about this in the past and the Mirage F-1M’s & MF2000 and Kfir’s are also very capable platforms in there own rights

I don’t deny that, the reason I chose the Phantom is it’s versatility, which is in a different league to the others.

It’s almost unfair to group the F-4 with the others, it’s still a very capable platform in its own right.

This is in effect only during the time when Iran develops nukes. After that, they would recognize Iran as a nuke power and sanctions would vanish.

I suspect the sanctions would become worse in Irans case.

Also who on this forum would be prepared to turn up and help look after her?

    I would, for one.

I suppose it depends on the manner in which she is retired. If she has terminal engine issues, I guess she’ll be staying wherever that happens.

As has been said before in similar threads, Elvington stands out as an excellent home for her ongoing future.

Doesn’t the back of the hangar open too?

My argument against banning the burqa/niqab/etc. does not rest upon religion as a category enjoying unique protection or consideration (although it is difficult to miss the fact that xenophobia is certainly what inspired the French bill) but rather upon the more basic principle that citizens should be free to dress (or not) as they wish, surely one of the most basic manifestations of the individual liberty western nations claim to hold dear.

But wearing a Burqa is a unique consideration for Muslims. If I walked down the street wearing a full face balaclava in any western nation, I’d be made to remove it, and rightly so.

Wearing anything that covers your entire face in public is extremely antisocial, and does not fit with the values that western nations aspire to.

The 109 is a replica, but she’s mainly wooden IIRC. I helped Danny Thornton put her together when I was a volunteer ages ago. We made the rivets by putting card through a hole punch! 😀

The Halifax looks spectacular, it’s a shame she’s usually stuck at the back of the hangar. I hope they decide to keep her at the front, and wheel her out on the odd nice day we have.

IIRC Blue2 said a while ago that Tony had some other issues that had taken some focus from the Mossie. It’s still a fantastic display, and fingers crossed they get her running soon.

I’ll be adding some more in a couple of weeks, as my sister is getting married there a week on Saturday.

We have a special relationship with all countries of the Anglosphere. Nothing the politicians say or do changes our shared history, our similar values and our cultures.

Airfix are also promising something new in 1/24th…..any ideas?

Probably a bomber / PR version of their excellent Mosquito.

I’d love a 1/24 Wellington with exposed Geodetic parts, that would make a spectacular model 😎
