In an industry where perceptions of safety are critical, it’s going to take a long time until one of the big groups moves away from tried and tested Western brands.

Looks like Farage isn’t the only horse in the EU exit race 😮

Am I right in thinking there’s a crated P-47N in a crate inside the B-36 at the Soplata farm?

Agreed, that must be the definition of patience and persistence!

But the thread is a double edged sword.

I’ve just lost another hour to it! 😀

Some of the work is incredible

On that note, I seriously recommend any Hurricane fans out there check this out: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=72275&hl=

It’s the most impressive build I’ve ever seen.

Firstly if the UK wanted to develop a manned fighter it still could. The UK has know-how in all the key areas and Typhoon is frankly based on UK R&D from avionics through to engines.

I wouldn’t get drawn into their sniping. It’s nothing but French posturing, as they realise that as soon as F35 is in service, their ‘omnirole’ fighter will be seriously outclassed by F35 in the A2G role, and Typhoon in the A2A role.

Sadly for the French, Rafale WILL be the last fully domestic fighter project, the costs of developing a next gen platform will be far beyond French budgets. (and at the rate their economy is failing, even more so)

I wouldn’t be surprised if a next gen European project involves input from France and the UK, and I wonder what they’ll have to say then about our aircraft industry?

At this point, Farage couldn’t do a worse job than the 3 main parties.

But please, anything but Milliband! Having to put up with that nasal sneering on a daily basis would finish me! 😀

I see this as just ridding the high street of dead wood.

I wouldn’t put it in such terms, but I agree. These businesses did not keep with current buying trends.

And I completely blame the businesses themselves. They all had an advantage over other brands, as they are all well established household names, but their ‘management’ lost sight of the market. HMV for example should have been amongst the first to change to predominantly digital, and cut back on stores.

The only victims are the many thousands who are/will be unemployed 🙁

A-10s would be sitting targets with MANPADS in the field

Other jets are certainly vulnerable to MANPADS too, but at least the A10 stands a good chance of surviving a strike, a Mirage or Rafale would be finished.

I would think the main danger would be small arms, in which case an A10 would be fine.

A10s could be operated from makeshift bases behind the line. On that note, what did we do with all those Harriers?… 🙁

By the way, why are the Rafales carrying A2A missiles? What possible airbourne threat could they encounter?

Bet they wish they had Brimstone right now. Perfect for this mission.

    I reckon a few A10s wouldn’t go amiss.

Even though they’re an older design, they’re far more relevant in this type of conflict than 4th gen fighters IMO.

At least it’s not an active airfield. (by the looks of it)

When I say fascists I was refering to the money men/bankers/usurers/power brokers/media reptiles who really decide which group of equally dismal politicians pretend to operate the levers of power.
I have no intention of entering into a debate on their relative merits with you or anyone else, as they are all equally cr*p in my opinion–and care even less about which side you support.
It doesn’t matter if the name is Thatcher, Major, Blair, Brown or the current two tw*ts, they’re all just a front for the same group.
The Police have been used for decades (if not forever) to enforce the aims of the same group.

    I care not

Sorry, I misunderstood what you had said.

But I completely agree with everything you’ve said.
