When I say fascists I was refering to the money men/bankers/usurers/power brokers/media reptiles who really decide which group of equally dismal politicians pretend to operate the levers of power.
I have no intention of entering into a debate on their relative merits with you or anyone else, as they are all equally cr*p in my opinion–and care even less about which side you support.
It doesn’t matter if the name is Thatcher, Major, Blair, Brown or the current two tw*ts, they’re all just a front for the same group.
The Police have been used for decades (if not forever) to enforce the aims of the same group.

    I care not

Sorry, I misunderstood what you had said.

But I completely agree with everything you’ve said.

Well I would think the filf are well p*ss*d off.
After they do the political bidding of the bunch of fascists who run the country for the last thirty odd years–and in the process lose the support/confidence of the majority of normal folk, they then get stabbed in the back by the same politicians/money men.
My heart bleeds to be honest.

These “fascists” we’re doing a great job until ’97, that’s when the rot set in. In two terms, the Socialists have brought us to the brink of bankruptcy.

I haven’t got any time for the current lot, but they’re certainly better than the clowns on the other side.

Tbh I don’t think the pay cut is enough, why should the starting salary of a Policeman or teacher be more than a soldier?
Public services do not generate any money for the country, and so it is only right that they bear the brunt of austerity. This is tragic, but it is the world we live in, not some looney fantasy that the leftists have, where everyone can be wealthy and equal.

Canon cover out (and only 2 GBU’s)

I wonder if they made some straffing like the F1 used to make in Africa. Would be interesting to know and with which results.
Let’s note that A to G modes for the canon has been fully opened not that long ago.

The front Rafale looks tiny compared to the one behind!

I think they are saying it is to become bi-annual but its going to be harder to do that I would think as it looses momentum.

Yup, the same thing happened at Elvington 🙁

I tend to like aircraft for either their innovation, versatility or purity of purpose.

    Some of my favourites:

I’m somewhat humbled to say I received an Airfix 1/24th scale Mosquito from a very good friend and his family. Banff Strike Wing colours appeal greatly.

I’m also going to do a Banff machine, more specifically this one:

    http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm203/j_s14a/8247a926003ae06c4def46986ca60a27.jpg

I wanted something a bit more colourful than norm, with rockeds and invasion stripes, and this one suits the bill perfectly.

It also crashed on my birthday, but years before I was born, (which I found odd). Apparently one of the machine guns was passed down as a family heirloom in Denmark, until confiscated by police, and is now part if the deHavilland Museums collection. 🙂

Anyone have any information on the helicopter pilot that lost his life? Type of aircraft, did it go down etc?

    .

According to CNN it was an Attack Helicopter, so presumably a Tiger or Gazelle?

That they even have the nerve to suggest this show exactly what kind of people are running the country.

    And this is Democracy?

What other assets can the RAF throw at an enemy that has a proper double digit IADS setup? Typhoon can’t go near them so that leaves what exactly to deal with the problem?

Why would the RAF be operating alone? Any scenario that just involves Britain would have the support of the Royal Navy. Ie: plenty of Tomahawks.

In the scenario you’re suggesting, Strike Eagle, Superbug and Rafale would all have the same issues as Tornado.

BTW, I’m no Typhoon fanboy. In many ways I wish we’d gone with Gripen instead. But it is a very good aircraft, and more than fulfils our requirements.

The trouble with that line of thinking is that Tornado just doesn’t cut it against a near-peer opponent in this day and age. I think people need to accept the fact that Typhoon has failed to mature into a multirole jet instead of making excuses for it.

Neither will a multi role jet that’s carrying a predominantly A2G load. Multi role jets are ALWAYS a compromise, their load out dictates their effectiveness at either role. The advantage of multi role aircraft is cost, not overall force capability.

The scenario you’re suggesting just wouldn’t happen, any threat would have been dealt with by other assets before A2G aircraft are sent in.

Indeed, the Typhoon really is a multirole-failure, best to ignore the apolagists.

    I don’t agree at all.

It’s exactly as multi role as it needs to be for now. We still have a very capable and versatile A2G platform in Tornado.

Whereas in this case it will sit in storage for years if it’s not already airworthy.. & if it is, it will promptly be grounded… So either way, unlikely to ever fly again…

    Glass houses Kermit? 😀

It’s really not that hard to work out. Just use the same logic that several on here use when reporting the latest comings and goings on the UK Spitfire scene.

So, it’s in Burma and currently in a crate, buried under a runway?
