A high back Spitfire perhaps?
I can’t see how anything could go wrong
Brilliant! 😀
They look like the type used for war gaming.
Apparently some Razorback P-47s were retrofitted with them.

I’d quite like to put forward the Victor
Moggy
Like so many aircraft from that era, she was a beauty until they started covering them with bumps and blisters. That transformation is nothing though compared to the differences between the DH Comet and the bulbous AEW Nimrods!
[QUOTE=Confucius says;1972252]And the little prince is quite a looker too!

I think you meant to post that in this thread: http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/showthread.php?t=6239
😀
P-51C / Mustang III

Sukhoi T-4 (nose up)
She’s not so pretty with the nose down. Does anyone know of any ‘in flight’ pictures of this type survive?
I don’t know why every brit thinks the spitfire is the best looking plane ever. Oh wait the answer lies withing the question.
Seriously, what is wrong with you?
I’ve always thought this is a beauty.
Without equal (imo)

And a central theme running through this whole thread:
How accurate is peoples perceptions of the Argentine economy?
They seem to be having high inflation, but that’s never been out of the ordinary for Argentina, bar a few relatively short periods.
It seems there is non-consensus about how they’re doing.
Some, from certain inevitable quarters, maintain they are doing poorly, but there is as much evidence that this is untrue, and the economy there is growing at a rate that would be envied in other geographical locations.I’m aware of the default and the energy shares issue.
I guess the truth is somewhere in between, as usual.
Perhaps then, they’d like to start paying us back?
A relatively small amount, a healthy economy would have no issue in paying.
There are also plenty of unsubstantiated reports that the Argentine government has been fiddling the books.
Maybe my dictionary is wrong but a “bully” is someone that uses his superior strength to intimidate those who are weaker forcing them to do it’s will. Hardly the case, not even on paper, empty threats are just cheap talk and even kids know it.
Sorry, you’re quite right. The word I was looking for was ‘Coward’ 🙂
Pal, you perhaps don’t see it, as you seem to be unfortunately blinded by ultra-nationalism (which is highly regretable for a Brit, as in my experience the vast majority are highly educated and very humanist peoples, usually far away of such pathetic beliefs as ultra-nationalism) but there’s a big difference between the islanders seeing themselves as British, subjects of the Queen etc, and considering the land they are on, obtained through very regretable means, as British! They are entitled to and have all the rights to consider themselves British (i don’t think anyone can argue with that), but they cannot ever lay claim on that island as British.
There’s no ‘regretable means’ at all.
And I’m not an “Ultra Nationalist”, I just have a problem with bullies, like the Argentinian government and yourself.
That’s as maybe but the UK will never just hand them to Argentina and Argentina will never agree to UK ownership so in the end real ownership will come down to the people who have lived there for over 200 years and the only way that can happen is Independance
They’re having a referendum on the subject in March.
As a UK citizen, I would be overjoyed for the Falklands to become fully independent, as many other British colonies have before.
But, I don’t believe that would be the end of the matter. Every time Argentina faces a hardship, the Government will use the ‘Malvinas card’ to distract the population in a haze of nationalism. For that reason, the islands need assurances as to their safety. Britain will provide this, until such a time as the Falklanders wish otherwise.
