It doesn’t get much more commercial, where santa is concerned…
Good point, well made.
Merry Christmas everyone!

I like the livery now the light blue goes all the way to the nose. It looks quite classy. Don’t think the ‘b’ logo works at all though.
I wonder what Louise (Comet) thinks of it.
1L.
I like the livery a lot, just not sure about the use of ‘XL’ (extra large) rather than ‘Excel’ (to be good at something).
So that would explain why she was at MSE then today for crew training
Why would a new livery require crew training?

Crossair used to give their aircraft types their own names rather than use the manufacturers names. The Bae146 was Jumbolino and the Saab2000 was Concordino. I can’t remember what the Saab340 was called. Anyone?

The plan is eventually to have all 319’s for shorthaul at LGW. I don’t think the last of the 737’s will go in the very near future though as the current Airbus fleet is needed at LHR and the Airbus aircraft currently on order are all destined for LHR to replace the 10 original 320’s (BUSB-K).
That may change though as there are big rumours of 330’s for longhaul at LGW to provide greater commonality for the LGW fleet as a whole, which would presumably mean the 319’s moving south sooner. Although what types that would leave at LHR who knows.

The rumours about BA and LGW have been around on and off during all the years I’ve been with BA. Whether they are true this time who knows. What we do know is that some of the best performing routes at LGW are the ones that can’t be moved to LHR in the near future, and that will always influence decisions.
As for GB Airways, they have recently moved their engineering to Virgin, so further co-operation could be on the cards. I don’t think there is much love lost between GT and BA these days so I wouldn’t be too surprised if this turns out to be true. One thing they do need to consider is that their two most profitable routes, AGP and FAO, actually belong to BA so aren’t theirs to take, unless BA let them. The last rumours I heard about GT are that they have over stretched themselves and aren’t doing at all well financially.
Time will tell on both subjects.

I see. I was thinking pax flights. That’s what threw me.
Thanks,

Does Santa as a passenger constitute Commercial?
1L.
You’ll have to fly on it next time it comes into the fleet FlyMonarch.
EXT 1xB733
Why is there an aircraft at EXT?
1L.
Agreed, UA 744.
1L.
Wasn’t part of the plan in designing the 727 (and original 737’s) specifically that it should be capable of just such operations?
1L.
the ridiculous size of the toilets.
i second that
More galley space
Get your credit cards out then boys. Cabin space is some of the most expensive real estate around. Fine to have more space for anything other than seats but watch the tickets go up in price soon after.

If this thread proves one thing it’s that we all have different expectations and opinions.
I would agree with you that SQ should be up there in the top 5 somewhere although I have had better flights with other carriers. I get comments every day from pax (interestingly usually British) who have transferred from AA who say never again, and I don’t know anyone who has flown DL and thought it was good.
It’d be a funny world if we all liked the same things though.

ps: Enjoy CPT!
There are now two different price categories: B light and B light.
That should be b light and b flex.
1L.
That must be a nightmare in a crosswind!
