Chris – post the one you have of her dipping beyond the trees!
Does anyone have any more pics of scrapped/scrapping of Victors? Just out of morbid interest I guess!
Also any of the tiger schemed phantom that the owner of hanningfords saved and assembled, only to have it cut up in front of him a few months later by officals?
Cheers
Ollie
We saw the fin when we collected the spare MLG leg for Lindy some years ago. I believe that was the only surviving bit….
DH Museum at London Colney? Don’t know about public transport though…. Bruce?
All the best guys..
1: Doh!
2: Damn
3: Damn
4: You’re probably right….
Cheers!
WL181 at NEAM was allegedly Ray Hanna’s aircraft at Manby, but if possible, very carefully remove the paint near the cockpit – if you find a small caracature of Gus Gus (the fat mouse from Disney’s cinderella) you’ve struck gold…..
so much for my aging memory and the search function on here……
Looks like Hurricane so far. The supports for the main legs have separate fairings extending rearwards like the hurricane. Not Tempest – no supports!
The wheels do seem large……

that said, here’s another Hurricane shot for comparison

Thank you for the positive comments. Be assured that the persons concened with the G-ANCF task within the Aviation Academy do read this forum and appreciate all that is said. The students involved are all volunteers and hopefully this exercise will instill a sence of pride in our heritage as well as improving their skills for a career as licenced aircraft engineers.
Kindest regards
LL
If only there were more people like Mr. Ashby. Top work fellah!
and I caused it…..:D:eek:
is he using only a map and stopwatch to navigate, or is he cheating with GPS?
JP’s XM419 and XM355, Jetstream G-BBYM, 1-11 G-AZMF and Aztec N79LW are aircraft not in the public domain. They are owned financially by Newcastle Aviation Academy, but are under my custodianship as the facility engineer. Please remove as required. F86 was removed by me simply because it was a museum aircraft!
