predictability
Heres a few pics of TT18’s John:
theyre of the pods, but as of yet I cant find any of the mirrors, if I do I’ll drop em in here. Nice to know Im getting predictable, anyone would think I like Cranberrys 😀 Bex
Hmm…. no mirrors fitted to that one. Does anyone know if they were only fitted to early aircraft? We have the rivet holes in ours (I’ll post a pic later when I get home…)
And yes Bex, you are predictable…… 😀 😮
a what?…..
Wonderful! I knew Danish hunters would have a purpose…. upsetting the purists seems like a worthy cause..:D
Hope the momentum keeps up! Well done and good luck for the future. Whats next?
You could try to get in touch with E Flight 202 Sqn Leconfield – they are the custodians of the Leconfield history archive. They might be able to help… Sorry, I don’t have their number…!
Transiting to Durham Tees Valley for two overnight stops. Appeared at Sunderland airshow Sat and Sun..
That would be fantastic! Make sure to get video of that would love to hear it!
That said, it would be incredibly unlikely! There are far more pressing matters to deal with. Maybe some rotating beacons would be nice… Anyway, if we ever get a hangar built for her, she would be unable to have anything like fuel near her. Just going to concentrate on getting her looking nice and structurally sound. If we can do that, then we’ll see…..
I will… thanks. Just deal with the sky account now – I’ve figured out how to work it! I wish these computers were as simple as an H2S set…
Thank you Bruce, my sentiments exactly. James from TVOC is working out a plan which may result in A.a.p.p. power being applied… scary! At the very least, we should be able to cycle the bombdoors and landing lights, and have light in the cockpit. However, thats for a later date!
Bruce, did you get the pictures I sent? I have PM’d Thunderbird too… he should be in touch soon.

New pics…
The Dove in its new roost
The Vulcan wing after cleaning
The A.A.P.P. bay opened for the first time in years…
I think the oleo has corroded at the steering pivot…. I really don’t want to get a bar in there and snap the leg…. that would be quite embarrassing.
The usual method for moving it is to get a few heavy guys on the tail and lifting the nose off the ground…. not brilliant, but all there is at the minute. Hopefully they will figure out whats up before they move her next time.
Thanks anyway Bex. 😀
News today – not much
The DH Dove fuselage is now in the storage / workshop hangar out of my way….
The Pucara has had its tyres inflated and has been pushed back a few feet (previously occupied by the Dove) so we can have our walkway back- previously, the route around the hangar was blocked by said Argy aircraft, and people were hopping over the barriers to get around.
The hedge at the front of the museum has been cut, and is now a bit more attractive to visitors…. I’ll refrain from the ‘neatly trimmed bush’ comments…
Work began on the Dragonfly’s display engine.
Work also began on the Lightning – the fin is pretty heavy! Dave is team leader on that one. The nosewheel is now filled with hardening foam and will never go flat again. Anyone got any ideas about how to free the steering without taking the leg apart?….
Vulcan news – James completed the survey on her today, and hopefully the results will be back in a week or two. After that, we can start renovating panels etc while we wait for the nod about spares.
Finally, the Shorts has been cleared of seats (again) by 1507 Sqn air cadets ready for the interior restoration to begin.
I’ll update with a couple of pics later

WEBCAM Action
Ghosthaunted are doing a ghost watch tonight at NEAM. You can watch people wandering around the museum in the dark on this link… its a bit weird watching people when its supposed to be closed…..
Bonkers with a hint of genius…..
Thanks for the info. I am now better informed! 😀
Being in the airline industry, my interest is purely technical now. If I can understand WHY parts are built in a particular fashion, then perhaps I can understand the modern picture a little better.
As an enthusiast, the smells and sounds of the classic aircraft are wonderful…. ‘Eu de Old Aeroplane’ should be bottled…, and you can’t beat a merlin on full chat….
OK, thanks. It still seems a little eccentric though… perhaps thats why it never caught on. (plus you can’t fit fuel tanks, etc, into the wing…)
Were any other types (OTHER THAN G.A.L) designed with this concept? Just how popular was it?
questions, questions….;)
