It was returning from a flypast at Uckfield for a 50th birthday surprise.
Nice present!
Verry funny considering the 185 floatplane I flew can stop in 50 metres…
“Circus ringmaster Norman Barrett and lollipop lady Heather Morris both receive an MBE”
???
I see the obligatory lollipop lady gets in again…
Lovely video – thanks for flagging that
Stukas – and lots of them
I’ve told you before.
I heard the phrase comes from 9 yards of ammo in a P51.
Great stuff – What a season – give her a ‘well done’ pat from me!
Mark12’s forgotten more about them than I’ll ever know!
Is there some other place I need to go for the benefit of his Spitfire related wisdom?
All three of Ulrich Steinhilper’s books in his war memoirs trilogy would make a film each, together they would make one hell of a movie.
“Ten Minutes to Buffalo” anyone?
How about “Rudel” then we could get some new build Stukas!
spitfire (kent spitfire?) displaying at Biggin Hill about 11:30 today, saw it in the distance from Orpington
Yup, beautiful tight display by Dan Griffiths for the remembrance service at St, Georges Chapel, against a very low cloudbase. Contrails off the wingtips and all. Fantastic!

Tiger Squadron by Ira Jones.
Thoroughly recommend it too.
“Billy Bishop got five huns before breakfast”…
within the prop arc surely this would obscure the image and why paint it red?
Not a problem when the prop is spinning. 🙂
The only ones I have go round to scanning. Venues not hard to guess!

I know a small note, but isn’t the PA474 not authorised to take formations with aircraft other than those of the RAF.
Cheers, Huw:)
It formated with a certain vulcan last year at Waddington
Joe Public wouldn’t give a (fill in appropriately) if an airframes was original unrestored but would comment on the shabby appearance.
Any ideas (and keep it constructive).
Cees
Joe Public wouldn’t be sufficiently informed to decide what’s right or most appropriate.
After all, Joe Public votes for X factor, so I’d be careful what decisions were left in their hands.
