The people I work with base charges on transit time to an event. Once there, you can have a 10 minute display or a flypast – the price doesn’t change.

I don’t know how other people do it.

BBMF Lancaster heading straight out of Biggin Hill about an hour ago 6:30ish, got a lovely view as it passed directly over my house! Also earlier today spotted BBMF Spitfire and Hurricane heading towards Biggin at around 2PM and heading out of Biggin Hill again at about 4:30 PM.

It was the two Spits MK356 and AB910, both came over the airfield just as I was walking out of the clubhouse for a lesson. Unfortunately I missed sseing the Lanc take off as I was over Rochester but I kept hearing it on the radio. It had to observe noise abatement – even though it sounds glorious!

Would be a good guess for TA805 as the only other Spit with cannon and invasion stripes is I think Tom Blairs’ PL344 based at Duxford.

TA805 heading for France for the D-day weekend.

Little windows for viewing the dataplates – at least they are on Spit elevators anyway

From a purely scientific view, and tounge in cheek, even the youngest Spits will have changed their entire compliment of physical matter nearly nine times since being built due to sub atomic processes.

I thought that too when it was mentioned, but that’s what the bloke I spoke to said. He was probably mistaken about it, but it was along the lines of getting ‘our spit back that used to be on the gate’.

Any nominations for a more likely candidate?

    Cheers Zwit

It’s the long awaited ‘Heritage Centre’ – it will be situated on the other side of the road from the airfield where the big gap is next to the new houses that replaced the old married quarters.

The people involved reckon they may be in line for a Spit possibly SL674 again, but nothing definite yet.

I look forward to it as I’d like to end up working there as an old bloke 30 years from now – the perfect retirement job!

I’ll post more info if I can did any up.

I’ve got a mint re-con Palouste if you’re after one to start the Bucc with.

Failing that – have you got a starting handle spare?

Brilliant idea – anything that gets kids excited and even maybe interested in engineering is to be encouraged
