2008 and looking forward .
For the airshow scene, it has to be 558 for me.
Away from the public gaze, my highlight is going to be setting up a new hangar centred around a pair of JP mk 3s and a couple of other old aeroplanes as instructional airframes…
… oh and celebrating the completion of XL319… (Fat chance… I’ll get me coat)
Hi Lindy’s Lad,
I’m looking forward to the Berlin Airshow and visiting the various museums
aviation-wise over the three days we are there from EMA . Also Brno air
fest, did that last year and want some more of getting in for £6 and great
static shots without burger-bars in the background or yellow-jackets or
cars to spoil the shots. Are you hearing this the we love Waddo-die-hards.
JJ.
Put me hand in me pocket.
The Shackleton is run up to full power at nearly every open day that is held at Coventry, by members of the Shackleton trust who look after it, so I look forward to you puuting your hand in your pocket and coming along for a visit ………
If you put your hand in a little deeper you could be on board for the engine runs and hear the intercom at the same time.
All monies goes towards keeping it in a runable condition. 😉Regards, Alan
Hi Alan,
Okey mate, Coventry it is next year, and I will bring my purse with me.
Cheers JJ.
Anti idiot device.
I think I might have found the perfect thanks we can give the cnuts who thought this was the best way to while away the time…
Hi there,
Just to say I like the look of the Green machine, but have you heard that
if the Police have a flat tyre on their Panda-Car, they arenot allowed to change it, they have to send for tyre re-pair man. What chance have they
got if the device has a flat battery. On the tyre thing, are we not required on
our test to show we can do a tyre replacement in a emerg ? Anyway lets hope that after your shown device we get RoboCop, how does it go, Ten Seconds to comply.

P-80 at RR Hucknall info.
I’d like to see those.
I’ve always understood that early P-80s were painted.
Hi J. Boyle,
Just spoke to our man at Hucknall tonight, and states the following that the
P-80 at Hucknall was there to have a Nene fitted by the RR staff there.
From there it went for testing at RAF Church Broughton, where he states that
the aircraft crashed. No details yet on the bump, but I will inform you when
I know more. Church Broughton was used by RR whilst they had their concrete runway was being done. It was painted and not metal finished , so
I was wrong and hold my hands up. He will provide you with a shot of it on
the understanding that it is for own use.
Hope this helps,
Cheers JesseJames.
Nice to see confidential information appearing on the net again…….
Well, its your own fault, you should keep your traps shut and feed em the
most out-of-this-world stuff you can think of and watch em go for it, have
a giggle along the way, and also you get to see who you can trust.
With regard to your fab aeroplanes future, how about talking to the I.W.M
and maybe ask them would they have a live exibit at Duxford which they
could crank up and taxi-ride towards its up keep. Just Jane gets away with
it, why not you. Or even East Kirkby because of the link with Coningsby.
I know, I’m dreaming again but I would dip into me pocket to see it crank-up
and make a hell of a din and shatter some nice Autumn or Winters day.
JesseJames.
P-80 U.K.
I have seen pictures of a P-80 at Rolls-Royce/RAF Hucknall. This was a
polished metal finished example.
Cheers, JesseJames.
Ormond the man.
Hi There,
Just read your Thread with regard to Ormond Haydon Baillie and my own
thoughts on the man who I watched cutting the farmers fields just off the
Whittlesford road with either the Black Knight or the white-star spinnered
Camo-Sea Fury. For a lad of eleven at the time, this was the Biz and how
right my dad was when he said, this could be the start of something big
around here. To my mind Ormonde started the Warbird scene in this part
of the world rolling. The aircraft that this bloke had a hand in bringing to us
is worthy of a least a memorial. I would pay good money toward it.
I remember meeting him whilst we went to the Air Tattoo at Greenham –
Common one year and got to speak to him. He made us very welcome and
when we gave him the 20 questions routine he smiled and went to great
lengths to put us right. He will always have a place with me of which I and
a lot of other people will miss.
Gone but not forgotten.
JesseJames.
Mossie.
Hi Tom,
Is this the one Stephen Grey was going to buy until the new Euro-rules
about OAPs came in with regard to flying twins. I heard the one which
TFC inspected at Duxford a few years ago from Lambeth, you know the one
that the I.W.M. sawn-off the wing had concerns about the status of the glue
involved in the wood. A guy in New Zealand was building new moulds for
Mossies, check out the Mossie-site for details.
Regards, Gary.
