Was this taken before or after the plane dive bombed Jermaine Greer’s goose/duck!!!!!
LOL
Bluebird CN7 (the Car)
The 1950’s/60’s Bluebird Car was powered by a Bristol Proteus Turbine engine which was connected to the wheels with a gearbox at the front and another at the rear. The jet pipe then split into 4 and two came out on the top of the car and 2 underneath. The engine area of the car is in very good condition and also is very original with the original fire extinguisher fitted in 1958(9?). I know all this as I spent a weekend this spring working on the upkeep of the interior areas of the car which is quite a task.
Also in the end when the boat K7 crashed killing campbell it was fitted with an Bristol orphues engine.
The earlier cars of Malcome campbell were powered by Napier Lions, Rolls Royce R’s but The First Bluebird/Sunbeam had a 350hp airship engine I’m afraid I could not tell you the make as I’m at uni and my info from work is at home.
Sorry to go off on one just thought that this may intrest some of you?
But this is all to say that it is deffinatly not form Donald Cambell’s Bluebird CN7.
I go to uni there
Hi is this an open event or would i need to book in advance?

Cheers for any info
I went to a very impressive talk by Dave Southwood at the New forest aviation group earlier this year.
He did fly Black 6 alot and gave a talk comparing this warbird to other types. and he really ratted it.
he also said that he was hoping to fly another 109 soon but said no more.
I hope that this does not offend as I have not met Mr patterson but whilst looking for images of duxford google images I came across this link.

Do you think that he might be preparing them for a five minuite slot at Legends 2005
I was at silverstone today and the Ju52 did several circiuts before departing i guess for duxford. was a nice supprise and made the day even more enjoyable. well off to Duxford tomorom to see it again then back for the grand prix on sunday.
Yeah Beaulieu is home to the National motor museum
I’m not sure but i think that these boats might be at Bucklers hard more during the summer
Incidently did you visit the motor museum whist you were in the area as this is where i spend my time as a museum guide.
I also have a real passion for historic jets mainly because they are the Type of “intresting” aircraft I see the most. Living away from the majority of the WW2 aircraft that are flying I make regular visits to Bouremouth Aviation museum and quite often I am rewarded with that wonderful smell of Dehavillland or Hawker jets. I still really love WW2 stuff but Jets have really grown on me since this museum opened in 1997?
Cheers for correcting me there slip of the fingers (as it always is in these cases). I really lookforward to this show as it deffinatly is something quite different
I remeber this Aircraft preparing for the ferry flight. It was one of the aircraft that really got me hooked on Historic aviation. We live only 10mins from where the sunderland was based at Calshot, a war time RAF costal command station, and I remeber the first time I saw her flying. I was visiting my Grandpearets just down the road when we hear a large piston aircraft so we rushed out into the back grarden to see the Sunderland flying around in the distance. I am fairly sure that my Grandad took some video of it flying that night and I know that he took alot more later of it accutally at Calshot flying. We spent quite a few Evenings and afternoons at Calshot during 1992/93 watching her flying around. It was such a shame to see her disapering up southampton water for the last time. 🙁
This is once again shaping up to be a highlight of the Airshow seasson here in the UK. This was a most impressive demostration of Hunter flying, and as they say you can’t have too much of a good thing so it will be nice to see them back.
I was at Bournemouth Aviation Museum a few weeks back and there was a Swiss pilot being checked out on G-HIVP, the blue and white Hunter. It was nice to see as I have never seen this aircraft flown before.
As its my only airworthy local historic jet (we as well as the other aircraft at bournemouth). I’d just thought I’d say how pleased I am that it is flying at all. I was not alive whist these aircraft were in service and I never ever thought that I stood a chance of seeing one of these in the air where it belonged. So I would like to thank all at DeHavilland Aviation etc and Red Bull for allowing me to forfill a dream of being able to see such an outstang piece of British history gracing ourskies, whether it is Yellow and red or Blue and Silver, I feel very privalage to have seen it. 🙂
I too am tempted to hop over the Solent to visit this show it looks quite good a good few aircraft set to display most of which I would assume will also be flying at Duxford?
THanks for the update. It a shame that there is not not that millionaire round the corner. still I have my euro millions ticket so If i get lucky I might be in touch!!!!!!
I might be intrested in the offer of a look around but it would have to wait till I’ve finished uni for the term. so in the summer
