As we are now down memory lane. Who remembers the little cellophane or clear plastic “bullet holes” you could stick on your car windows? As for the Fort Corsair I had a 2000E which had a habit of blowing head gaskets in turn! My best car(and I have had some really nice and today expensive classics through the years) was my first car which was a 1950 Standard Vanguard which was in the family from new and given to me when I passed my test at 17. The freedom it gave me I will never forget

For the youngsters it was identical to this including the colour. It was my job every week to clean the chrome and that grill was as sharp as razor blades especially the little flip up bit it the middle where the starting handle went.

Well I suppose when we finally bankrupt the populace with carbon, green and environment taxes we will have done our bit in saving the planet. How? that’s easy we will not be able to buy goods from the polluters such as China,Korea etc Less demand=less production= less CO2 As the Meerkat says “simples”

AS a Mod on other forums that do have a parts for sale or wanted area I find it is the bane of my life. This forum has the good sense to stay away from it.We have a no responsibility clause for either buyers or sellers but this sometimes ends up as one member or another having a fight on the forum over description of parts or expectations. As Mods we do by a gentle PM to both parties to sort it out off the forum. If not they are banned. What I have noticed is people are suspect-able to assuming that another forum member is as honest as they are, shame really but as in life trust no one just because they are in the same club or seems friendly and never part with more money than you can afford to lose if it goes pear shaped. As for ebay I have seen some tremendous bargains and more than a fair share of rip offs. Have we all forgotten the “Rip off Britain” programme so soon. Do not look to ebay or paypal for reimbursement I find they come down on the side of the seller in most cases. I AM NOT SAYING THAT THE PEOPLE IN THIS THREAD ARE NOT HONEST but just an observation as to what could go wrong in transactions. I hope this thread can end up as resolved without anyone throwing their toys out of the pram.

Saab? I seem to remember them. Nice cars until General Motors got hold of them and turned them into Vauxhalls with new clothes.

I always wanted one of these back in the eighties

Leaving the Daily Mail garbage aside it set me thinking. Could a Sunderland have been built as an amphibian?
