In 1963 I was driving my VW Beetle along the Guildford bypass one night when I was overtaken by a Mk1 Jag saloon( I really wanted one of those wire wheels as well) going like stink. It suddenly turned left and dissapeared from view. I know that road well and I knew there was no turn off there and I thought it strange and put it out of my mind. A few days later I was driving a friend home and when we passed the same spot he said that was where Mike Hawthorn chopped himself! Ghost,mind playing tricks, tiredness or I could have been out on my exact position on the bypass I don’t know but I have never forgotten it.

Funny You should mention the Medway Queen Jim I saw her last Thursday. She is little more than a data plate restoration though.
