I reply that this is an Ex directory number of Avon and Somerst Police and I am Inspector Smith of the crime squad. Please hang on while I put you on hold to verify you with one of my IT dept.

How it came to be,how it was recovered and any other arguement about it is totally irrelevant. We have it in the skies as a tribute especially to those who fell to give us the freedom we have today.

My Father had a nosewheel collapse in the Western Desert in 1943. So definately not uncommon. Lost a nosewheel and bent another B24 in Gibraltar when soneone thought it would would be a good idea to strenghan the defences by digging a gun pit and trench across the taxiway and not tell anyone!

Why not just fly it in?
