I wholeheartedly agree with you, the operative words being OUTSIDE your property.
If you are IN MY PROPERTY, then we play by my rules, and my rules in those circumstances are………………….THERE ARE NO RULES. regardles of what the Law of the land dictates as to reasonable force. I am in a Yanks frame of mind, when they shoot first and ask questions later metaphoricaly speaking.

I could not agree more Jim.

    One word answer to that.

    Gallipoli

Yes Churchill was the leader we needed but he was not above very costly(in lives) mistakes.

    Sky High

Yes television is more what I am aiming at in this thread.

I can’t sit through a 2hour film in the cinema without a couple of pee breaks and 4 fag breaks! Age does have its disadvantages.

It wasn’t worth it. No war is worth it. No war is worth the loss of a couple of lives let alone thousands. T’isn’t worth it…the First World War, if you boil it down, what was it? Nothing but a family row. That’s what caused it. The Second World War…Hitler wanted to govern Europe, nothing to it. I would have taken the Kaiser, his son, Hitler and the people on his side and bloody shot them. Out the way and saved millions of lives. T’isn’t worth it.

HMS Ocean is worn out as you surmised by looking at her. She was built to Commercial not Warship standards. She has been flogged to death as a necessity as we have nothing left in the pot.

Political spin though,She is an Aircraft Carrier if you count 4 Apache’s so the Royal Nay has a seabourne airstrike capability!

I served during the “troubles” in the 1970’s my friends had sons who served in Gulf War1 and one has a son who is now in Afghanistan. I wonder where his son will serve?

Politicians! I would not pi55 on them if they were on fire!!
