    Sounds familiar…. http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/showthread.php?t=110202

Anyway, Hydrogen cell vehicles are the future, not batteries… One question – just how difficult is it to make Hydrogen fuel?….

Just out of interest, why did the wings get cut in the way that they have been? By that, I mean, why is there a kink where the mounts for the undercarriage are? Why not just cut in a straight line outboard of the mounts?

This is a genuine query – our 1-11 is cut the same way and it seems a little odd… There must be a good reason…

Having had a good look around it today, all I can say is bloody well done for getting it to NEAM, and good luck with the restoration…. you have your work cut out!

The next question is, how the heck are you going to move it from the car park to where it will finally rest?….

    oh…. and well done!

Just a quick note to say THANK YOU to the guys at NEAM and TVOC for the amazing flypast of Vulcan XH558 at what seemed like rooftop height (more likely 200ft…) this afternoon. I live a few hundred yards from NEAM and the jet nearly took my roof off. Awesome. The Vulcan Effect is alive and well as witnessed by the 50 or so people who poured out of their houses to see what was making all the noise… I knew there was a good reason for not going to the seafront to watch the airshow.

I can insult as many mackems as I like… and I fail to see the offensive bit. I live there (although I’m a smoggie!), married one, and one of my kids was born in the city. :p:p:p:p:p

Is it still the largest free airshow in Europe?
Best place to be is the lighthouse at Roker – centre display.
Next best is Whitburn, following that, near the north pier.
Personally, I’ll be at NCL airport looking out of the office window at the arrivals…:D the boy-offspring is obsessed with Miss Demeanor so I have to get him a good view of her!

Its a pay off between cost and available flying hours. Usually they will do fly-by’s and displays like this when there is the opportunity to participate in more shows on the way or on the way back. Thats how we managed to get a pair of Spitfires at Eshott (They were already in Edinburgh).

Well we don’t normally need an excuse…:p

    (and it’s mackems…)

regardless of spelling, (Makems/mackems/macams) they’re still useless… I only live here because I have to..

    Anyway – Sunderland trivia:

Sunderland is derived from ‘The Sunter-Land’, in other words the land ‘behind’ or ‘away from’ St. Peters Monastery. Sunderland is quite literally, the wasteland….

Joseph Swan, of the Edison and Swan Electric company (the chaps who gave us the light bulb) was born and educated in Sunderland – specifically Hylton Castle…

Nissan wanted to keep the airfield at Usworth, Sunderland Council decreed that they MUST build their factory on the airfield site….
