That reminded me of the Christie’s catalogue for the Strathallan sale in 1981 in which the RS3/4 was sold for £5000. Apparently it last flew with the collection in 1978. Also from the same catalogue you could have had, amongst others, an airworthy Hurricane for £260,000, an Avenger for £7,800, a Hudson for £16,000 and a complete Anson Mk.19 restoration project for £1580!
