Hi
The New Sunday Monastir flights for next summer 07 which are set to be operated by Nouvelair Tunisie has change according to the several sources because Astraeus are looking at part basing a second aircraft at LBA over the weekends next summer season.
The out-bound flight to Monastir will now in fact operate on a Saturday evening, Leaveing LBA at around 18:10ish and then returns on a Sunday morning. Thus this will be in time to operate the New Sharm El Sheikh flights.
Hi
One of the Jet2 B737-300 aircraft is currently sat in the multiflight hanger here at LBA. Must be in for some maintance.
Both Newcastle units G-CELA and G-CELD have been to LBA recently for Maintaince so have the Manchester based Boeing 737′-300s with G-CELF, G-CELG, & G-CELH all been this week.
Sharm El Sheikh.
Hi
Panorama Holidays New Summer 2007 brocher is listing a NEW weekly Leeds/Bradford – Egypt Sharm El Sheikh charter Flight.
The flights Departs LBA @ 11:15 and Returns at 23:15 every Sunday from May 6th 2007. No flight codes are given. So by the looks off things its operated by an LBA based Aircraft
LBA
1 X B757 = Thomsonfly
1 X B73G = Astraeus (Thats if and when it turns up)
So far this summer 06 season Astraeus’s LBA based flights have been operated by the following aircraft:
Astreaus’s Own Gatwick based B757’200’s G-(OPJB)
Flybe.com/Astraeus – B737-300’s (G-STRJ/H & I)
Blueline’s – MD83 (F-GMLK)
Fly Globespan’s – B737-600 (G-CDKD)
Travel Service B737-800 (OK-TVC) .
God knowns when the Based AEU B737-700NG Will eventully turn up here at its new Home at LBA.
Thomsonfly’s based Boeing 757-200 (G-BYAI) also went tec on Tuesday this week on the Tuesday out-bound Tenerife South service. So on Wednesday they hired Air Finland’s B757 (OH-AFJ).
Flyjet hire one off Jet2.com’s B757-200’s (G-LSAB) this week on Wednesday to operate a Rhodes charter flight. Pax were bussed from Manchester to LBA on the out-bound flight. While the inbound flight went via MAN.
EXTRA MOV
Centralwings also hired a Air Slovak B737-300 (OM-AAE). on the Thursday/Friday night Warsaw scheduled flight.
Nope no 757 operating for Astraeus this afternoon, instead it was G-STRI, a 733 in FlyBe colour scheme which was quite nice to see .
The Astraeus B757-200 that I saw was inbound to LBA was posistioing in from LGW about 08:10 this MORNING. He Departed LBA 50 minutes later at 09:01 for Ibiza. So I’m guessing you might have missed it with it been that early.
You right about one of the Flybe/Astraeus B737-300 machines operating this afternoons Mahon flight from LBA. She came on a posistioing sector from Dublin. This was meant to be the B737-300 G-STRJ which was flight planned. But as you say it was in fact G-STRI instaed.
Also the Pegasus Boeing 737-800 evening flight in form Turkey-Dalaman that was recently axed by Airtours Holidays looks like its back on. Its Currently showing on the LBA Live Arrivals and Departure boards. This was meant to be replaced by the recently announced reinstatement of the Thomsonfly Dalaman flight.
ETA – PGT487 DALAMAN 1950
ETD – PGT488 DALAMAN 2035
Just thought I’ll tell you that the Pegasus has now been dropped from the Arrivals and Departure screens. So I guess someone at the airport did’nt realise that the flight had been dropped for this summer. Never mind.
Anyway just heard on the grapevine that last nights Centralwings flight from Warsaw (Which was meant to be Cancelled) was in fact operated by A Slovak Airlines, Boeing 737-300, OM-AAE.
Noticed that the first of Thomsonfly’s 3 summer weekly long Haul Charter flights started today from DSA.
The first flight was to Dominican Republic this Morning, While Cancun takes-off tomorrow and Orlando-Sandford flights take-off on Sunday Morning. All of which are been operated by Boeing 767-300’s.
Well it looks as Tom (LBARules) might have had a bit of look this morning.
Seen going over Leeds city centre about 08:05 was a Blue tailed B757-200. Which looked like the Astraeus colour scheme. Just been looking on the departure boards and it looks like it must have operated the delayed Ibiza service.
AEU923 IBIZA 0530 DEPARTED 09:01
So 1 of the Planned Boeing 737-300’s has turned up as a Boeing 757 while the second aircraft looks as though it might have turned up as an AEU, Boeing 737-300 G-STRJ. (This is not confirmed as yet.) She’s set to be operating this afternoons Mahon-Menorca service as follows.
AEU937 MAHON 1230 CHECKING IN A10-A11 Proceed to lounge
Also the Pegasus Boeing 737-800 evening flight in form Turkey-Dalaman that was recently axed by Airtours Holidays looks like its back on. Its Currently showing on the LBA Live Arrivals and Departure boards. This was meant to be replaced by the recently announced reinstatement of the Thomsonfly Dalaman flight.

So the changes keep on coming up at LBA still. What a week.
Sorry guys I wont be able to make August 1st. I’ll be on my way to the Costa Blanca in Spain on July 31st to do some spotting at both Alicante and Murcia Airports. I don’t fly back to Leeds/Bradford until about 4th. Yet again on another Jet2.com plane.
Never mind, maybe next time I’ll meet up with you lot.
Hi
I do have a LBA video (VHS) of the greatest day ever at LBA. Over 50 odd Aircraft movements including. Iberia’s A300, B757, B727, Corsair’s B7472P, Air France A320, AOM DC10, BA Concorde on one off here visits and many more aircraft and Airlines are included. Also a Ramp tour was organised.
The day was Saturday 15th June 1996. It was the France Vs Spain Footie match at Leeds United’s, Elland Road ground at the Euro 96 Championship. It lasts about 30 min’s.
Don’t know if it’s available in any shops. As I bought it from the person who filmed it at the Air Yorkshire aviation society.
Thanks guys for you nice comments. Makes a change to have some nice weather for a change up here in the North and some nice movements at LBA.
where did u take the pics from ?
From the cemetery. Just at the end of Runway 14 where the Loop is.
Hi Tom
The Astraeus B737-300 G-STRJ did’nt turn up this afternoon. I,ve been up there all afternoon. Only thing to note was that a Jet2.com B757-200 G-LSAA was moved over to the multiflight hanger.
This has to be a first. I,ve never seen them over there before.
And heres you last lot for today.
