I’m sure there would be takers for the Santa Maria’s (Spanish built Perry’s) e.g. Taiwan, but also maybe Pakistan, or other NATO states (Turkey, Portugal, some former east bloc states).

New OPV of the Brazilian Navy

The NPaOc Amazonas, the 1st of the new class of ocean patrol vessels of the Navy of Brazil, is in final preparations for their incorporation into the MB. His crew is in Portsmouth and soon it will be built, getting our flag. Everything is moving on schedule. The next will be the NPaOc Apa, indicating P121, with arrival at the end of the 2nd half of this year, becoming the 3rd and last class, the NPaOc Araguari, indicating P122, scheduled for the 1st half of 2013.

Enfin, il ne serait pas étonnant que la Grande-Bretagne cherche à se rapprocher de Brasilia dans le domaine des porte-avions. Le futur HMS Queen Elizabeth, prévu pour entrer en service en 2016, doit en effet être vendu, seul son sistership, le HMS Prince of Wales, livrable en 2018, devant être conservé par la Royal Navy. Or, les Brésiliens ont annoncé leur souhait de se doter de deux nouveaux porte-avions. La reprise du Queen Elizabeth n’est donc pas impossible, qu’il soit acheté dans sa configuration actuelle (avec tremplin pour des avions à décollage court de type F-35 B, mais aussi en cas d’ajout de piste oblique MiG-49K ou même la version navalisée du Gripen de Saab) ou modifié comme le Prince of Wales pour disposer de catapultes et mettre en oeuvre des F-35C, F/A-18 Super Hornet ou Rafale. Il suffirait, ensuite, de faire construire un second bâtiment.

Chile; Navy decides on ex-French LSD vessel

The Chilean government has finalized negotiations with France to procure the landing ships dock (LSD)-type vessel Foudre to replace a Newport-class ship that Chile retired in 2010.

Chile is expected to pay around USD80 million for the amphibious vessel, which the French Navy no longer needs and is set to decommission in April 2012.

On June 2010, French defense minister Hervé Morin offered the Foudre (L 9011) to the Argentine Navy during his visit to Buenos Aires. Argentina had already declined the transfer of the Ouragan class in the past and was more interested in seeking French support for a locally built amphibious ship instead.
