Thanks Warbert, just goes to show there’s always something new to learn even with these old birds.
Fantastic images, thank you for sharing! Those conditions sure look challenging.
Can anyone tell me what that lip of metal is behind the spinner on the upper cowling?
Is it an oil collector ring similar to the one found on a Hurricane? I don’t think i’ve seen it on a Mustang before.
Thanks.

F-W is for test flying – alot of the Airbus aircraft have F-W before delivery)
F-P is homebuilt (post certification/testing)
Thanks for the clarification Arm Waver.
Is it usual practice to display both registrations at the same time though?
A great project, many congratulatios to them for this fine achievement. It may not be the ‘real deal’, but I sure can appreciate the time, money and passion that has gone into it. Hats off to them.
One thing I noticed though, is it having an identity crisis?
If you watch from 16:33 you can clearly see the reg under the port wing reads: F-PMOZ, yet, 10 seconds later a view of the tail shows the reg F-WMOZ!
Does anyone know why?
Wow!
Thanks very much both of you, that certainly looks like the one. And that is more information than I ever imagined receiving!
If I can find my photo I’ll try and get a copy uploaded.
Brings back very fond memories…
This is what makes this forum great.
For the technological amongst us the new IWM airshow app is out today for Iphone or android actually looks quite good and for a limited time is FREE so get it while it is.

I downloaded this earlier today for the iPhone. It seems a little ‘clunky’ but definitely has potential.
Although I imagine it’s aimed more towards the casual ‘Duxford go-er’ the Schedule feature is certainly a nice touch for anyone and will come in handy.
Great price too 😉
As an IL-2 fan since day one and an avid follower of the development of SoW i simply cannot wait for this to be released! However, I will have to. Not only because its earliest likely release date is Q1 2011 (Which I doubt will happen!), but I will need to seriously save up for a better rig.
This game will demand the power of at least a quad-core processor, probably min 4gb RAM and unthinkabley large graphics memory just to make it look nearly as pretty as envisaged by Oleg.
It is still difficult to run IL-2 perfectly smooth and ‘maxed-out’ even with the best machine money can buy today.
I wouldn’t worry too much about the tracers AdlerTag, from what i’ve read, we still haven’t seen the finished textures let alone everything else (effects etc).
Fantastic Tim, I bet that was something!
And Thank You, for everything.
Lovely photos Anna, what a splendid day it was!
You must have been standing near me judging by the angle of the BBMF hurri landing shot, I thought at the time ‘I hope he can see the Buchon’!
It was, and has since been repainted.
I believe just over painting roundels and codes and keeping the camo from the dutch livery (someone will correct me if i’m wrong im sure).
It looks rather lovely doesn’t it!
Great photos 92fis, loving the F-16 at the moment.
I have to say, I also thought their display yesterday was somewhat lacklustre. It probably wasn’t helped by the fact they were one hawk short, but all the same in my honest opinion they were outshone by the Frenchies yesterday! The second half of the PdF display was quite action packed and some of the crossovers and synchros were breathtaking. Also love their twinkle rolls and the Blades-esque pass with two Alphas in knife edge.
The last time I saw the Reds was at Biggin last year, and I can’t recall coming away thinking ‘could have done better’ then. Perhaps some tweaking is required for next years routine?
On a side note, In my opinion I also think the Belgian F-16 display outclassed the Typhoon yesterday! It was thrilling, loud, dynamic and fast! I can’t remember ever seeing the Tiffie doing a good old fashioned fast pass.
Before I get in trouble for RAF-bashing, I would like to add that I thought the missing man formation by the Valley Hawks was particularly moving and a very nice touch with the minutes silence.
Don’t think i’ve ever hear DX so quiet!
Looking at those pictures, that is almost exactly how imagined that it happened. The cross wind was surely a major factor. 🙁
Am i right in thinking this is the second Tiger Moth linked to the Tiger Club in the last few years that has had a prang?
I’m sure the silver G-ANJA got into a spot of bother a year or two ago.
It’s a shame to hear SKP is still in kit form, I wonder why this is?
Blue Max, with your experience, judging by the photos do you think G-ADGT is repairable? I do hope so.
OO that looks nasty! glad occupants are ok. Trouble with these old girls is that the bits are getting harder to come by and more and more expensive!!
All the time that they are on a CofA it get harder and harder to rebuild them.
Had my heart in my mouth when i saw the thread title, i rebuild CDC a couple of years back and worried she had come to grief!!!
Im supprised this isnt in the historic section!!
Good point, I guess it could fall in both catergories? I was at Headcorn and in GA mode I suppose!
Fantastic job on CDC by the way, I’ve grown up with Headcorn on my doorstep and the place wasn’t quite the same while she was away.
Am I right in thinking SKP is also undergoing rebuild at the moment?
Sounds unfortunate, but hopefully not too damaging to life and limb.
Lets face it, who amongst us has not crashed a Tiger Moth at Headcorn?
Mine was in June 1997, and happliy was another running along the ground accident rather than all the unpleasant plummeting that one reads about.Tiger Moths usually crash quite nicely, with lots of crumpling and splintering to absorb the energy. Just yesterday I flew with a fellow who spun from 300 feet a few years ago, and though a bit bashed and bruised, was up and about not too long afterwards. Got to credit the Chiltern Air Ambulance for that happy outcome as well.
It certainly looked more like the result of a ground accident rather than a plummeting one. There was also a considerable cross wind when I was there, though fellow resident moth CDC seemed to be coping well with the conditions.
Hopefully they can throw some string and glue at the old girl and she’ll be up again in no time.
video
Well, for what it’s worth, here is a link to my (smartphone) video footage of the Seafire takeoff. Apologies for the quality, but for those who weren’t there at least you get the idea!
