From the same show i think. Is it the Dutch DC-4?
here is a photo of BM597 at biggin hill BofB weekend 2000. it was taking part in the mass Spitfire scramble.
I don’t think the owner of that Ford Escort will have any luck in fitting the Spitfire in their boot!:D 😀
Thank you for those who have contributed to this post so far. I never expected to see so many gems! Keep it up, so that other people who lurk around this froum can appreciate them.
duxfordhawk- I Have photos of firefly taken this year including photo with Hurricane, gladiator and nimrod taken at Duxford just before accident it doesnot seem right to post them though,i miss her and crew badly.
I understand your reservation duxfordhawk, but i feel this thread is a place for rememberance. It would be nice to see your pictures of the firefly and her devoted crew where they belonged, in the air. If anyone else objects to this please share your views, but i believe they should be posted as a memorial to the RNHF crew passed from this life doing something they loved.
regards,
Flood, are you really only 12 years of age? If so, i would believe it were illegal for you to get married in this country! Sorry to put a damper on things! 😀 😀 😀 😀

Indeed Hatton, i totally agree and support ARCo/HFL’s decision to return ‘161 to her original IAC scheme. It will be a welcome change to see a Spitfire in something other than the usual and will encourage the public to appreciate the aircraft’s actual history and that not all spitfires flew in the RAF!
I can’t help being slightly biased however, i am half Irish! 😉 😀
This year we should have four T.9 Spitfires over here in the UK.
ML407 – Carolyn Crace – Duxford
PT462 – (forgotten owners name) – Wales
IAC161 (PV202) – HFL/ARCo – Duxford (will fly early this year)
MJ627 – Maurice and Peter Bayliss – East Kirby (?)
Great, thanks Chris.
That’s what i was thinking. I can’t recall seeing that Aircraft Revetment recently, however i rarely venture up passed the AAM these days anyway.
I believe that last photo was taken from inside a Dragon Rapide at Duxford. I was sitting on dads lap at the wee age of 4. Sixteen years ago! Christ. But i do remember it, so it’s probably one of my earliest aviation memories. 😎
Can anyone tell me though, whereabouts that part of the airfield is? It looks as though it could be at the western end near to where the AAM is now? any ideas?
TIA
Nice pictures Bradburger!
Just thought i’d bump this up again so that more people can enjoy the nostalgia. 😉 :p
The pilot movie for ‘baa baa black sheep’ sqn was on the other day, just caught the tail end. It had some pretty good aerial sequences i’ve never seen before, including war-time colour footage and re-inactments.
Can’t for the life of me remember what it was called, anyway, looked rather good!:D
AHHH!!! MOOSE! gotta love Moose! everybody loves moose.:D :p :p :p
Very nice indeed Trumper, is she one of yours or from il2skins.com?
I’ve just started doing skins for forgotten battles myself. Go to http://www.IL2skins.com and search for skins by ‘bear_boradin’ i have 7 skins up so far including the Gentile one. Check them out see what you think.
I did start on a ‘Moose’ and i might get round to finishing it one day!
Happy Landings mate and check your six!
Another one of mine….
and another one…
I do apologise Mark V, i seemed to have forgotten all about this thread! :p
Ok… here we go then: –
It’s very simple i can assure you. You play the game, fly what you want, when a moment arrises that you think it would look like a great photo oppertunity, you hit a button called ‘Print Scrn’.
This captures the entire screen as a still shot in the resolution you are running and stores it on the ‘clipboard’ (which traditonally meant having to exit the game and paste it somewhere in order to save it.)
However, in IL2FB they make it slightly easier, whereby the captured shot is automatically saved into the game’s directory on your hard-drive as a .tga graphics file which you can convert to a .jpeg using PSP7 or Photoshop to reduce its file size.
I hope this helps, any more help you need, give me a shout!
Something to whet your appetite…
This is a mustang skin (paintscheme) i recently completed which took about 8 hours to finish. It’s of Gentile’s P-51D that he flew in the states when he finished his tour of duty.
hmmm, Woodchurch 2003. Five harvards, very nice!
Remember that Yak 11 Fan?
Oh no, you were too busy messing about with other aeroplanes probably, whats it called again? Mu.. Muz… Must…. oh, thats it a Mustang.
What was her name? Christ, i can’t remember :p She is a pretty girl though!
Oh that’s it… Janie!
